So after a day that saw Wimbledon greats Roger Federer and Serena Williams ease seamlessly into the next round, and that witnessed seeds continuing to tumble, it's time for us to sign off.

Exits for Venus Williams and Madison Keys mean just two of the top 10 players in the women's draw remain in the championships.

Fourth seed Alexander Zverev scraped through in the men's draw, while there were also wins for eighth seed Kevin Anderson and Gael Monfils.

British number one Kyle Edmund faces Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon in the third round on Centre Court on Saturday, in what is the biggest match of the championships so far.

Edmund has achieved another milestone by reaching the last 32 at Wimbledon for the first time and is carrying British hopes in the singles.

Coach Fredrik Rosengren said: "He is in unbelievably good shape mentally. We talk a lot about that, to enjoy it.

"Sometimes we all forget the joy of playing. This is so important. I said to Kyle: 'I have the best profession in the world, I'm happy every day to get out of bed and work with you'."

Dennis Novak has pulled level with 13th seed Milos Raonic by taking the second set 6-4 - this one looks set to go deep into the Wimbledon evening...

Kim Clijsters is a four-time Grand Slam champion and her dad Lei Clijsters (who died aged 52 in 2009) was a centre-back who played for Belgium in the 1986 and 1990 World Cups.

"I was three when my dad was at Mexico ’86 and seven when they were played at Italia ‘90. They reached the semis in Mexico. I remember I had photos and the atmosphere and the vibe in Belgium – in my home town was incredible," said Kim.

"When he had injuries I could work out with him with a stopwatch – I went with him to the forest and timed him running up a hill. It created a bond between us. When he became a coach I would go to games and scout players. I was his buddy - ride in the car and watch videos of the games.

"Vincent Kompany wrote the nicest letter when my father passed away. He’s incredible. Those kind of things tells you a lot about people.

"I like the coach Roberto Martinez. And I think assistant Thierry Henry doesn’t get enough credit. That to me is surprising."

As the oldest woman left in the draw, after her 38-year-old sister Venus was knocked out on Friday, Serena Williams is still leaving the younger players behind.

And despite her seeding of 25, and her world ranking of 181, the 36-year-old is looking every bit the player to beat.

"It doesn't really matter who I am playing," she said. "Every opponent is playing their 'A' game as we are seeing in this tournament with the top players going out. Technically I'm not a top player but I have the wins of one."

Milos Raonic is now a break down in the second set, trailing Dennis Novak 4-2 after taking the first in a tie-break. This one might not be finishing tonight.

Kiki Bertens knocked out Venus Williams earlier, here's what she had to say: "It means a lot, I cannot really believe it. It was a tough match, a big fight but I am so happy I won this one.

"I lost in Miami earlier in the season and I had match point, so that came into my mind sometimes, but I told myself ‘keep going, this is the third round of Wimbledon, you have never been to the forth, you have nothing to lose and go for your shots.'

"It is tough to play aggressively on grass for me but I did it well so I am proud.

"I will have a little celebration, rest a little, but I can celebrate a little because I am in the second week of Wimbledon."

Fourth seed Alexander Zverev beat Taylor Fritz 6-4 5-7 6-7 6-1 6-2 earlier in the last of the men's second round matches after a suspension in play overnight.

Play was halted because of bad light on Thursday with world number three Zverev two sets to one behind on Court One.

But the German bounced back in emphatic style to win the following two sets as American Fritz, ranked 68th, struggled to regain his form.

Novak will be disappointed. But for a few serves at the end Raonic wasn't great.

The sign of a good player is when you can win a set like that when you haven't played particularly well.

Thirteenth seed Milos Raonic was 4-1 down in the opening set, but has fought back to win it on a tie-break against Dennis Novak.

The winner of this one plays the winner of Guido Pella and Mackenzie McDonald's match, with the American currently two sets up in that one.

Marion Bartoli has sparked a feud with 15th seed Nick Kyrgios after she told BBC Radio 5 live's 6 love 6 , externalshe does not believe the Australian and Frenchman Gael Monfils have the right work ethic to win a Grand Slam.

"It's pathetic. It seems like they can't grow up," she said.

"Yesterday Marion Bartoli had to say some nice things about Gael Monfils and myself. They’re ‘pathetic,’ ‘children,’ they ‘can’t become men,’ ‘wasting their life’ - Who are you to judge the way we go about things? Who are you to tell us how to do things, when u have no idea what we’ve been through?

"Stop assuming you know what’s best for others when you think you’ve had a little success. We get it, we know you have to remain relevant, but I’ll give you a heads up, we don’t care what you have to say."

Gael Monfils produced some fine tennis after going a set down and having to take a medical timeout to beat Sam Querrey in four, the Frenchman was at his flamboyant best in that one.
