    Right then, the decider...

And it's Roger Federer to serve first. Kevin Anderson cracks a backhand into the net and then the Swiss charges in to meet a short ball from the South African on the volley.

    Djokovic 6-3 3-6 6-2 6-2 Nishikori

Novak Djokovic on his win over Kei Nishikori: "It feels great to be in the last four of a Slam. I’ve been building in the last couple of weeks, the level of tennis is going up in the last couple of months and tournaments. Queen's it was looking like it was getting better as time went on and I’m peaking at the right moment.

"This is not the first time I have been in the semi-finals here but I will try and enjoy this victory.

"To be honest I thought it was unnecessary to get the warning, I knew how I threw the racquet and didn’t harm the grass. He [Nishikori] threw his racquet in the fourth set and the umpire said he didn’t see it. So it is not fair but that is the way it is.

"I am very grateful to play on this court I love and competing at a high level. I am trying to get in the best possible shape for the biggest possible events and it doesn’t come much bigger that Wimbledon."

Will the giant South African feel the pressure? He challenges a deep Roger Federer return... the crowd clap in unison, but that was right on the chalk. Perfection from the Swiss.

Kevin Anderson slaps down a huge serve that just rolls off Federer's strings and on to the turf, and follows up with a 132mph ace.

The top seed scuttles in to meet a volley and make it 30-30, but a sweeping Anderson winner brings up set point.

Roger's been in this position so many times. You still back him to get through but it is tricky when you have had match point.

You feel like you should have been off court an hour ago.

Kevin Anderson has looked by far the better player in the past two sets - possibly even the one before when he narrowly lost the tie-break.

Roger Federer cruised through the first, but has struggled to hit form since.

Now the eight-time champion needs to dig deep... but he finds a thumping Anderson forehand coming back his way and the South African follows up with three aces in that game to hold.

Alice: Impressed by Anderson. Seems to have much more variety in his game than last time I watched him, with a healthy dollop of daring & disrespect for Federer's looming presence across the net. Thoroughly enjoying what I feared might be a pedestrian encounter.
