Tom B: Haven't seen a tennis slugfest like Djokovic vs Nishikori for quite some time. They're leaving everything on court today no matter who wins.

Dan: Djokovic v Nishikori is outstanding so far. No favourite for me, just loving the tennis

The headband-topped Swiss cranks through the gears a little, you get the feeling Roger Federer is yet to hit top speed in this quarter-final - but he's accelerating...

Kevin Anderson puts the brakes on the Swiss with a neat serve and then a superb drop volley to turn it around to 40-30, before Federer rattles the tape off his forehand side.

It is amazing when you watch Roger Federer play. People used to say to me a few years back, 'don't you get bored watching him? It's so easy.' Of course I said no! You know he will hit four or five shots that no-one else in the world will hit. It defies imagination. It is so special every time he plays. It is a treasure.

A big, big hold of serve from Kei Nishikori. The crowd cheer the 24th seed. He clenches his fist and readjusts his headband. Back to work...

This is great tennis now. Nishikori sees off a break point with a volley at the net.

His box stands and applauds the man from Japan.

Clinical from the top seed. We're rattling through quick holds in the third set.

    Roger Federer continues that trend.

There doesn't seem to be any issue with the elbow there. With a hop and a whip of the arm, Nishikori bangs down his second ace of the match.

But that's brilliant from both men. On and on the rally goes before Djokovic hits one of those backhands that took him to the top of the world.

    Deuce. Important moments...

There were question marks 18 months ago when Federer came back from his injury. Would he be able to come back? But he changed his racquet, changed his positioning and now three Grand Slams later, he's playing some of his best tennis ever. He prolonged his career - that is what he did.

What a winner, one big step across the baseline from Roger Federer and a nonchalant passing backhand to establish his authority on this third set. Magnificent.

Kevin Anderson digs in, steams down a meaty serve and finishes off with a half-volley smash.
