Women's defending champ Sloane Stephens has had to battle, really battle, against world number 134 Anhelina Kalinina.

It should have been a breeze for the American - talking of breeze there has been a lack of it on another very hot and humid day.

The third seed also needed treatment on a blister on her hand, which is not great if you need to use a racquet to earn a living.

However, she's just broken the Ukrainian and then held her own serve.

Happy days in the Stephens camp.

On the way to work today I realised I had my sweater on back to front. I took if off and put it back on the right way around only to see this copper giving me a ticket for doing so! Crazy!

    Anyway, back to the tennis.

It's Sir Andrew Barron Murray against Spain's old warhorse Fernando Verdasco on Arthur Ashe in their second-round match.

It's only 32C today, but the organisers have applied the Extreme Heat Policy for a second successive day which means the men can have a 10-minute break between the third and fourth set and the women can after the second and third. Soft.

Yesterday, Novak Djokovic enjoyed an ice bath alongside Marton Fucsovics. He said it was a "magnificent feeling".

What would you do during a 10-minute Extreme Heat Policy break? #bbctennis., external
