Konta* 5-2 Vekic
Vekic catches Konta off-guard and fires a forehand cross-court. 0-15.
Vekic repeats the same shot and it's 0-30.
Is Konta second-guessing herself?

Jo Konta looks great, a game away with 29 minutes on the clock. It has been pretty much perfect and it looks sustainable.
Her form does not look like it is going anywhere, whereas previously this season her good moments have been flashes rather than a solid basis she could rely on.
The last British woman to make it to the quarter-finals was Jo Durie in 1983.
Durie made it to the final four that year, so Konta has a couple more wins to go if she wants to better that record.
Konta* 5-2 Vekic
Konta hits a backhand down the line and it's another break!
She's one hold away from winning the first set.
Konta 4-2 Vekic*
Again the ball goes into the net. Break point Konta.
Konta 4-2 Vekic*
Another long rally, but after 10 shots Vekic hits the ball into the net and Konta goes 30-15 up.
The Brit comes to the net, but can't get the ball over either. 30-30.

The big stand-out for me in this tournament for Johanna Konta is her mentality. She looks settled and confident in her tennis and surroundings. She is not red-lining her shots, there look like there are more gears for her to move up into.

Konta has blasted seven winners so far, perhaps a sign that she is predicting Vekic’s plays and picking her spots. These two have practised together and played each other six times, of course.
The Croatian is getting frustrating, turning around and muttering something in her native tongue. These two have practised and played a lot together.
If I could understand it, I may not be able to publish it on a family-friendly website.
Konta 4-2 Vekic*
Vekic hits a ball wide and Konta goes 30-15 up. The Croat shouts something at her box, but my Serbo-Croat isn't great so I couldn't tell you what she said.
It doesn't seem to help, though, as Konta holds again.
One player is already into the women's quarter-finals - Czech teenager Marketa Vondrousova has thrashed Latvian 12th seed Anastasija Sevastova 6-2 6-0.
The 19-year-old took less than an hour to race into the last eight at a Grand Slam for the first time.
She'll face either Estonian Kaia Kanepi or Croatian 31st seed Petra Martic next.
Konta* 3-2 Vekic
It looks a bit sweaty out there on Suzanne-Lenglen, but that's not slowing either of these players down.
Vekic gets a crucial hold with an ace, but Konta is still a break up.
Konta 3-1 Vekic*
"Come on," cries Vekic as she hits a forehand down the line to go 40-30 up.
Konta responds with a speedy forehand of her own to bring up deuce.
Konta 3-1 Vekic*
Vekic goes 30-0 up, but a blistering forehand from Konta gets her on the board.
The Croat hits the ball long on the next point. 30-30.

I think we can expect to see quite a few breaks of serve in this match, so that hold may be critical in this first set.
Though Konta or Vekic will face a tough quarter-final against Sloane Stephens or Garbine Muguruza, the women's draw in general looks less intimidating. There were shock exits for top seed Naomi Osaka and three-time champion Serena Williams yesterday.
There are only three of the top 10 seeds left in the draw, highlighting the unpredictable nature of the women's singles game.
Third seed Halep, Australian eighth seed Ashleigh Barty and American 14th seed Madison Keys are the only seeded players left in one half of the draw.
Konta and Vekic are in the other half, with Stephens the only top-10 seed on their side.
Konta 3-1 Vekic*
Another long rally and Konta comes out on top to save break point.
The British number one follows it up with an ace. Vekic hits a shot long and finally someone holds!

Donna Vekic has weapons. Anytime that the Croat has time to load up on her forehand Johanna Konta is going to be in trouble.

Konta pauses before a serve, swinging around to see whose sneezing is distracting her.
The Brit has a grin on her face, probably because she feels their pain having been bunged up herself at Roland Garros last week.
