As Gauff took a final sip of water before play started, I noticed her look around the stands, her eyes darting to all corners in front of her.

I wonder what she was thinking?

Across the court, I can see her father, Corey. He’s sat leaning forward, his hands clenched. Beside him and Gauff’s mum sit four coaches from the Mouratoglou Academy. They’ve got a good one on their hands here.

    Gauff 1-0 Rybarikova*

Double fault - Gauff suffered from a few of those against Venus Williams - and it's 40-30.

She then glides effortlessly from side-to-side along the baseline in a rally like a marble on a tray - she wins the point.

    Game.

That was good from the kid. Really good.

    *Gauff 0-0 Rybarikova

Gauff wins the first point but then fires a backhand into the net. Rybarikova is handy in the rallies.

The 15-year-old's next serve is too good.

30-15 before she delivers a stunning double-handed backhand angled winner.

    40-15.

Novak Djokovic said after his victory:

"I'm pleased with my game overall. There were some moments in the match when I could have done better but it was a solid performance overall.

"Ambitions are high and I've been fortunate in my career to do so well in Slams. I have to think only about the next challenge and take things one step at a time. I try to give my best and approach every match with the right tactics."

It was brief but it was fun. Novak Djokovic was masterful. He really wants to be loved and I think he did a lot for that cause this evening.

Denis Kudla will sleep well tonight. On the biggest day of his career, he handled it well.

Novak was ruthlessly efficient and at times flamboyant, too.

The people around Coco Gauff are going to be very important to her because she's going to go through a lot of transitions in the near future and she already has done.

It's important for her to think that every game is just an opportunity at the moment. Her composure impressed me against Venus Williams, so hopefully she can repeat that today.

Denis Kudla gets a big cheer as he leaves the court. He's got a few new fans after that.

Djokovic, who will play Poland's Hubert Hurkacz in the third round, stops for a few autographs and selfies on his way out.

The way Coco Gauff came through qualifying and then beating Venus Williams on court one has been so impressive. It's important she plays the person in front of her not the occasion.

She has to concentrate on herself and what she does well. She's got a good head on her shoulders, she's technically sound and she looks like a great athlete already.

    Gauff v Rybarikova

Here comes Coco Gauff, after receiving some late words of wisdom from her father Corey, out on to Court One along with her opponent Magdalena Rybarikova.

Meanwhile, here are some factoids about the teen.

    • Gauff became the youngest tennis player to win a match at Wimbledon since 1991 - when fellow American Jennifer Capriati, 15, defeated nine-time champion Martina Navratilova
    • She grew up in Atlanta, Georgia before moving to Florida to pursue tennis
    • Gauff is currently coached by Jean-Christophe Faurel (former ATP player and coach of Adrian Mannarino) and is part of 'Team Mouratoglou' - has trained at Mouratoglou Academy in France since age of 10
    • She has two younger brothers, Cody and Cameron
    • She signed first multi-year sponsorships in 2018 with three well-known companies

    Anderson 6-4 6-7 (5-7) 6-1 6-4 Tipsarevic

Last year's runner-up Kevin Anderson is into the third round in just under three hours.

The big South African wins it with an ace - his 24th of the match - and he eliminates 35-year-old Serb Janko Tipsarevic, who may have just played his last match at Wimbledon.

Some boos then from the court two crowd when it is announced that the Coco Gauff versus Magdalena Rybarikova match, which had been scheduled for this court, has now been moved under the Court One roof.

    *Djokovic 6-3 6-2 5-2 Kudla

Djokovic gets Kudla on the run and the American can't hack the pace. A second match point.

And it's a second match point lost! The Serbian puts too much on a forehand and it lands wide. He gives the crowd a wry smile and a shake of the head as they begin to heckle him again.

Coco Gauff is all we've been talking about and deservedly so.

She seems to have a good head on her shoulders and she's mature beyond her years.

I'd be shocked if she didn't become the best player in the world within five years - if not less - she's that good.

Kudla cannot return Djokovic's serve out wide and his mistake brings up match point.

The Serbian's first serve lands long, giving the crowd time for one more "go on Denis".

It works! Kudla hits a winner round his top seed opponent and that's deuce.

"Weyyy," shout the crowd like school kids as Djokovic's forehand goes long to put him 15-0 down.

Kudla lands a winner and waves his hands to try and pump up the crowd. They don't need it though. Centre Court loves Denis! 30-30.
