Hello, fancy new roof in action.

They have just closed the roof on Court One ahead of Gauff v Rybarikova and switched the lights on! Cue a big ooooooooooooh from the crowd.

It’s made an immediate impact on the temperature in here. I was just starting to regret not bringing a jacket along, but I’m nice and toasty now!

    Djokovic 6-3 6-2 4-2 Kudla*

Djokovic will not be beat! He lopes back and forth along the baseline, even popping back a smash, but eventually Kudla manages to close out the point.

This looks so ominous for Djokovic's future opponents, though.

The four-time Wimbledon champion forces Kudla to hit the ball long and has another break point.

His intensity, his attitude, everything looks on song for Novak Djokovic.

It's going to be so hard to beat him this year.

  7. An efficient hold for Djokovicpublished at 19:47 British Summer Time 3 July 2019

    Djokovic 6-3 6-2 4-2 Kudla*

Efficiency is the name of the game for Djokovic on his serve.

He pops up at the net, taps the ball over and is up to 40-0 in the blink of an eye.

The world number one drops a point, but serves an ace to close out the game.

She's had to wait all day, but finally Coco Gauff can get on court to play Magdalena Rybarikova.

Earlier on, I was speaking to a steward outside Court Two and she told me to get down to this one early if I wanted a seat. So of course I obliged.

But just as I was arriving there, I looked at my phone to see I had a missed call, a text and a WhatsApp message from a colleague telling me the match had been switched to Court One!

Cue mad sprint back up to our office on the top floor of Centre Court to pick up a new wristband to let me into the press seats, and then another mad sprint down all those stairs and over to Court One.

And. Breathe. I’m here before Coco!

Fourth seed Kevin Anderson is one game away from round three, leading 5-3 against Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic in the fourth. The big-serving South African has bolted down 22 aces.

  10. Ready to Coco?published at 19:45 British Summer Time 3 July 2019

    Gauff v Rybarikova

Two days ago we witnessed one of the best Wimbledon debuts in recent years when 15-year-old Coco Gauff brushed aside one of her childhood heroes and five-time winner Venus Williams. Did we witness a player take her first steps to becoming a tennis legend?

Now we await to see whether she can repeat the trick against Magdalena Rybarikova, who herself caused a shock, of smaller proportions, with victory over 10th seed Aryna Sabalenka in the first round.

BTW - this match has been moved to Court One from Two and will start after 20:00 BST.

    *Djokovic 6-3 6-2 3-2 Kudla

Djokovic's return has been spot on all match, but it lets him down now. His backhand goes too far and that's break point saved.

The American puts in a speedy wide serve and manages to hold. Good effort.

You might be right Karl, but we wouldn't recommend it.

Djokovic jumps up to hit a swinging cross-court forehand then flicks the ball over the net to get to deuce. Kudla's backhand lands wide on the next point and it's another break point.

    *Djokovic 6-3 6-2 2-1 Kudla

Djokovic has a chat with someone in the crowd but it's not clear what's been said.

It may have distracted the Serbian slightly, though, as Kudla hits a passing shot to make it 15-15.

Djokovic soon recovers with two more aces, but Kudla sends the world number one diving to the right with a superb backhand. Deuce. "Go on Denis," comes the shout from the crowd.
