I think that's one of the best performances we've seen on this court.
It was such an intelligent display. The way Pliskova mixed up her serving, Kerber didn't know which way to go and was standing so far back.
And there was clear thinking on her return of Kerber's serve, she changed the pace of her shots and gave Kerber constant problems to solve.

Pliskova was too good but the first few games were crucial because Kerber allowed Pliskova to impose herself.
Kerber never gave up but came up against an opponent who was just too good on the day.

STUNNING TENNIS BY PLISKOVA!

Former British number one on BBC TV at Eastbourne
Pliskova has played with fire in this set because you cannot take chances against a good player like Kerber.
You have to finish them off or they will come back and make you pay for it.

Pliskova 6-1 5-3 Kerber*
Karolina Pliskova is a game away from the title!
She is aided by a dream net roll which pops into her opponents' half.
Kerber is suddenly showing some versatility but has she left herself too much to do?
Sam Smith
Former British number one on BBC TV
Kerber is really getting her hooks into this second set. She has the fitness and the ability to sit behind the baseline and defend all day long.
* Pliskova 6-1 4-3 Kerber
Angelique Kerber survives three break points which would have left Karolina Pliskova serving for the title.
That's more like it. A marathon game goes in the German's favour.

Brilliant stuff by the Czech who is throwing herself around the court despite the stifling conditions.

Better by Angelique Kerber! Much better.
Those battling qualities she has been hiding finally reveal themselves as she wins only her third game.
Pliskova still has work to do.

This is turning into a walk in the park for Karolina Pliskova.
I'm pretty certain she expected a tougher examination than this.
Pliskova's serve has been excellent this afternoon and she wins the fourth game of the second set with the aid of an ace.
