Quick feet from Djokovic, and even sharper hands... he stretches out to meet Thiem's flick and the Austrian can only prod a volley long in response.
Deuce.

Djokovic is right up inside the baseline. Zverev, Thiem's previous opponent, played a long way back, but against Djokovic the ball is coming back way quicker.
Djokovic 4-1 Thiem*
Thiem's deep forehand is called long, and then quickly corrected - pressure on, with the point to be replayed. He thrives on it, a big serve and a slapped winner from close range.
Advantage Thiem.

'Tweener! But it's Dominic Thiem who wins the point after Novak Djokovic's crowd-pleasing heroics - a great lob from Thiem to stick the Serb in that spot in the first place.
And he holds! On the board for the first time in this Australian Open final.
Djokovic 3-0 Thiem*
Novak Djokovic has power of his own, but he sticks a little too much on a looping forehand and it drops just inside the tramlines.

Deuce.

30-15.
