    Watson has not won in a long time and you're not going to be confident in the big moments - whether you've been out with injury or a pandemic. It'll be tough for Watson to serve out.

    In terms of operating at this level, Watson hasn't been able to string it together and do it in a full match.

    Ymer almost looks like he might be a bit nervous playing the top seed on Roland Garros' main court. Can't imagine why.

    His forehand winner lands wide of the mark to give Djokovic two break points, then he slaps what should have been an open-goal backhand into the net.

    The 22-year-old sits down and has a chat with himself at the change of ends. Frustrating.

    A backhand at the net from Watson goes long. She was one point away from serving for the first set. Now she's serving to save it.

    Djokovic attempts a tricksy drop-shot at 40-15 down but it's half-hearted and doesn't find its way over the net.

    Comeback? Unlikely, but this is a French Open in September so surely anything can happen.

    Some good variety from Heather Watson as a lovely drop shot played from the baseline is far too good for Fiona Ferro, who hardly moves.

    A backhand into the net from the home player followed by a forehand going long sees a hold to 15 for Watson. Four-four.

    It looks like someone is slowing it down when Ymer is hitting it and Djokovic has all the time in the world to return it. Then suddenly they hit fast forward and Djokovic's ball comes back like a laser.

    He's in absolute control.

    The top seed backs up a second serve with a booming forehand and Ymer bats the ball into the net. First set wrapped up in 20 minutes.

    Eight forehand winners so far from Fiona Ferro, compared to none from Heather Watson. And the strong Ferro forehand helps her hold her serve in that game.

    A real tussle this one. These players are similar ranking, both won a title this year, I still think Ferro is the favourite.

    But a fine cross-court winner, coming into the net, from Fiona Ferro gives her the break back and we're back on serve.

    Ymer didn't help himself with another double fault but Djokovic is so in the zone there's not much the 22-year-old can really do anyway.
