Normally a crowd would react to a break of serve like that but there was nothing other than a Norrie roar.
Of course, there will be no fans inside Flushing Meadows over the next fortnight.
So will it change the behaviour of the players without the crowd to play up to? Less racquet smashing and fewer finger wags at the chair umpire?
A leading UK sports psychologist believes the lack of supporters is likely to see fewer controversial outbursts.
"If you do see any, they are more likely to be pre-planned because fans usually fuel these acts," says Professor Andy Lane, who has worked with elite athletes across various sports for over 30 years.
Schwartzman 6-3 2-1 Norrie*
Given that that was the most passion we've seen from either player so far, it's a good chance to talk about behaviour on court.
One sports psychologist thinks it could change given there are no fans at Flushing Meadows this year.

But wait, Schwartzman's forehand lands wide and Norrie has a chance to break back.
*Schwartzman 6-3 2-0 Norrie
Schwartzman's return lands near the baseline and Norrie has to scuttle back, leaving him only able to slice a backhand into the net. A fifth break point for Schwartzman.
Double fault and it's all over.

Schwartzman is so quick around the court he puts you in difficult conditions and you try to do too much with the ball.

A lot of the younger players don't have that fear factor when they face her, there will be respect but not the fear there once was.
I would love to see her get the 24th title, but time is running out and maybe that's putting pressure on her because of the limited time she has to compete at this level.
The life of a tennis pro is much tougher when you have a family.
I am in her corner, I can never really see past her and hope she can do it and go out on a high.
*Schwartzman 6-3 0-0 Norrie
Turning our focus away from the bad news for Brits on court five momentarily, will Serena Williams win a 24th Grand Slam title?
Here's what Judy Murray thinks.
*Schwartzman 6-3 0-0 Norrie
Without much fanfare on the almost empty court, Schwartzman gets the break and seals the set.
Maybe inevitable for Norrie against the ninth seed, but still not much fun.

Not great news for Norrie, but Schwartzman is very much in the groove as he holds to love.

The pandemic has affected many people's decision to enter and it is a weakened field so there will probably be an asterisk against the winner.
There's a world crisis so I think there has to be!
