Boulter sizes up a crosscourt backhand, but catches the tape! Is that the breakthrough Sabalenka needs? Boulter fights back once more. 30-30. But then hooks a forehand wide.

The British number one takes a 40-0 lead to set up three set points, and though he's unable to put a smash beyond the reach of Lajovic before hitting into the net, Evans wraps the second set up on the next point with an excellent forehand that curves round his Serbian opponent. Well played.
