    Djokovic 6-2 6-4 Garin

Djokovic is two-thirds of the way to the quarter-finals. Garin puts up a much more spirited performance in the second set, but it's still just not enough.

    Djokovic two sets up.

    Two set points for Djokovic.

  3. Game and third set - Rublevpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 5 July 2021

    Rublev 3-6 6-4 6-4 Fucsovics

After losing the first set, Russian Andrey Rublev now has the upper hand against Hungarian Márton Fucsovics.

Fifth seed Rublev has just wrapped up the third set, clinching it on serve with his fourth ace of the match, to take a 2-1 lead.

  4. Khachanov holdspublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 5 July 2021

    *Korda 6-3 4-6 3-6 7-5 8-8 Khachanov

Blimey. Karen Khachanov holds now too.

Three hours and 45 minutes on the clock and it appears both players may have rediscovered their serve, as we edge closer to a fifth set tie-break which would come in to play should we reach 12-12.

  5. Djokovic breaks, serving for the setpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 5 July 2021

    *Djokovic 6-4 5-4 Garin

It's been on the cards and now Djokovic gets it done. He's at the net, imposing, Garin twice tries to flick it past him and twice fails, that's a break for Djokovic, who is a set and a break up.

Probably, soon to be two sets up.

  6. Postpublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 5 July 2021

How much has that 12-minute service game taken out of Garin. It's 15-40, Djokovic sniffing a break.

  7. Korda holdspublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 5 July 2021

    Korda 6-3 4-6 3-6 7-5 8-7 Khachanov*

A hold of serve! Incredible scenes on court 18!

That man is the 21-year-old American Sebastian Korda, who not only holds but does so while losing just the one point.

It gets a huge ovation from the crowd too.

And now it's Karen Khachanov's turn to serve to stay in the match...

Garin grimaces as he fiddles with his strings. Last thing he needed after that lengthy previous service hold was to get the ball again within a minute or two.

    Djokovic 6-2 4-4 Garin*

Garin takes 12 minutes to hold, but it's far, far easier for the world number one as Djokovic bangs down four points in quick time for a rapid hold. Now back to Garin...

  10. Shapovalov in controlpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 5 July 2021

    Shapovalov 6-1 6-3 2-2 Bautista Agut

Canada's Denis Shapovalov is fully in control of his last-16 tie against Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut. Both players have exchanged breaks in the third set on court three but it's hard to look past Shapovalov for this one.

  11. Garin saves three break points to holdpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 5 July 2021

    *Djokovic 6-2 3-4 Garin

You get the feeling that was a crucial hold for Garin in a game that lasted more than 12 minutes.

It would have been dispiriting to put in all that effort and get no return, but, just about, we're still on serve in the second set.

  12. Korda breakspublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 5 July 2021

    *Korda 6-3 4-6 3-6 7-5 7-7 Khachanov

    There are no rules anymore.

Korda breaks back. 7-7. 12 breaks of serve in the final set. Amazing.

    Barty 7-5 6-3 Krejcikova

Up next for Ash Barty is either her compatriot Ajla Tomljanovic or British hero Emma Raducanu.

"Sorry guys, but Ajla's an Aussie..." is Ash's response when she's asked about who she wants to face next. She does say that their battle will be a "hell of a match" when it gets going later today.

    Djokovic 6-2 3-3 Garin*

Deuce number six in an epic seventh game of the second set. That's 11 minutes of action in this game now. The whole first set lasted just 24.

  15. Khachanov breakspublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 5 July 2021

    Korda 6-3 4-6 3-6 7-5 6-7 Khachanov*

Another shot at winning this match presents itself to Karen Khachanov, as Sebastian Korda fails to hold serve for a sixth successive service game.

The American limps off slightly as both players head for a well-earned breather.

Can Khachanov settle this at the third time of asking, after three hours and 33 minutes of play? I have absolutely no idea.

    Barty 7-5 6-3 Krejcikova

    Peter Odgers
    BBC Sport commentator

Barty had to battle hard in both sets against the current French Open champion. Krejcikova's run of 15 games is over, and it is Barty who comes out on top.

At the moment, Djokovic is just putting his foot on the pedal when he needs to. But you sense his frustration of not nabbing one of these break points.

The Serb stands cross-legged, balancing like a gymnast on a beam, as he watches that second break point go begging with a wayward forehand.

After the third he puts both hands on hips and glares at his team.

    Djokovic 6-2 3-3 Garin*

Brilliant sprinting from Djokovic at full pelt to get to a drop shot he looked like having no chance of reaching.

Not only does he get there, he produces a gorgeous angled drop shot of his own to get to break point.

We're still in the seventh game, but now it's been deuce five times. Garin clinging on to the game, for now.
