  1. 'It can get overwhelming'published at 14:53 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    Tracy Austin
Two-time Grand Slam champion on BBC TV

    That will help Pliskova.

It can all get overwhelming. Your mind can start to spiral.

She needs to use these next 90 seconds to figure out what to do next.

    *Barty 6-3 3-2 Pliskova

"Come on Karolina!" shouts a woman with the hint of an eastern European accent.

At 30-30, Pliskova thumps down an ace - only her second of the day - to get the crowd going. They don't want to be queuing for the Tube by 4pm.

The Czech eighth seed is boosted by that winner and clinches the game to stay in touch.

  4. 'No plan B'published at 14:49 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    Laura Robson
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live

I don't think Pliskova doesn't have a plan B from the looks of things. I think she's a bit surprised by how many returns Barty is getting back.

I just feel she's not quite got the game today.

    Barty 6-3 3-1 Pliskova*

A glimmer of hope for Pliskova as Barty hits a double fault for 30-30. Then the back door is slammed shut with a pair of paint-licking aces from the Aussie.

  6. Egberink & Gerard respondpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    *Hewett/Reid 2-3 Egberink/Gerard

We're back on serve in the wheelchair doubles final.

Dutchman Tom Egberink and Belgian Joachim Gerard have broken back to lead 3-2 in the first set against British pair Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid, who had led 2-0 early in the contest.

A reminder that you can follow that final at the top of this page.

  7. 'Nobody wants to see this'published at 14:46 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

It looks like Pliskova has weights on her. She's finding it so hard to move.

It's unfortunate so far. She can't execute anything. Nobody want to see this, except Barty.

You just wonder if she can break out of this. Time is starting to run out.

    *Barty 6-3 2-1 Pliskova

Pliskova is full of nervous emotion at the changeover, shaking her knees as she glugs on an electrolyte-packed energy gel.

  9. Barty breakspublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    *Barty 6-3 2-1 Pliskova

Groans around Centre Court. Pliskova falls 0-30 behind after producing two double faults.

There is no way back from there, a forehand into the net sealing another break of serve for Barty.

That hill is getting steeper for the Czech.

    Barty 6-3 1-1 Pliskova*

Although Pliskova is leading the ace count during the Wimbledon fortnight, it is Barty who is landing those blows today.

Two more bookend a comfortable hold to love for the Aussie top seed.

Probably the first fist pump we've seen and this game was so important for Pliskova to get a hold, and not like the first set, where she lost all intensity.

  12. Postpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    *Barty 6-3 0-1 Pliskova

You feel Pliskova must hold serve here if she wants to win this match.

No aces plus a low serve percentage equalled big bother in the first set.

She only won four of 11 first serve points in the opener.

A much better start to the second set, though. A hold to 15 gets the scoreboard ticking and the confidence pumping.

  13. 'Not over yet'published at 14:39 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

It ain't over until it's over.

Let's hope Karolina Pliskova can loosen up and play the way that has taken her to this final.

  14. Postpublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    Barty 6-3 0-0 Pliskova*

While Barty wasn't without her own nerves, she has handled the occasion much better than her opponent so far.

    One down, one to go.

  15. Game and first set Bartypublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    Barty 6-3 Pliskova

This game is a bit of a blur for Pliskova, too. The whole set in fact.

Barty settles down as she serves again for the set, a couple of thumping forehand winners are followed by Pliskova clubbing long on the first set point.

  16. 'Nerves play big part on Centre Court'published at 14:35 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

If you don't think nerves are playing a big part in what is going on out there so far, you've never watched a tennis match.

This gives you a better idea of what it means to players to walk out on this court.

How exciting it is but also how nerve racking it is - to the point where you can't move.

The first time I walked out on this court my legs were shaking. It was a blur.

  17. Pliskova holdspublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    *Barty 5-3 Pliskova

Much better from Pliskova with the ball in hand. More like the serving we've come to expect from her over the years.

A clenched fist towards her box - coach Sascha Bajin and husband Michal Hrdlička - marks her best game of the match so far.

    Over to you, Ash...

  18. Postpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    Barty 5-2 Pliskova*

So that's five breaks of serve in the first seven games of the opening set. Nerves, eh?

Barty couldn't serve out the set, but can Pliskova serve to stay in it?

  19. Postpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    Pat Cash
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Live

Pliskova might as well just swing a little bit and shake off these nerves - if not for this set, for the second one.

  20. Another break...published at 14:31 British Summer Time 10 July 2021

    Barty 5-2 Pliskova*

Barty looked edgy in her last service game - that provides a modicum of hope for Pliskova.

A double fault for 15-30 offers more. Pliskova pushes Barty back with a deep return and the Aussie goes long.

Two break points... Pliskova needs one. She wallops a forehand which beats Barty and would have ended up on Court One if there wasn't a stand in the way.
