Berrettini does his job.

Djokovic finds the tramlines with an attempted winner before a sensational point develops which has the crowd, rightly, on their feet.

Among it all, Berrettini plays a 'tweener' lob over the world number one, and Djokovic's attempted no-look response hits the net.

After all that, a nice hold to love for the Italian.

To the left of the media seats, there is an older man and younger woman - looks like father-daughter, to me - who are waving pro-Berrettini signs.

Both carefully-drawn at home, one says 'Forza Italia' and the other says 'It's Coming Rome'.

On closer inspection, it seems to be the same pair who were waving similar Canadian versions towards Denis Shapovalov in Friday's semi-final.

Either they are a) Italian-Canadians, b) strongly want Djokovic to lose whatever their nationality, or c) desperate to catch the eye of the television camera operators,

Berrettini can't take advantage and Djokovic gets over the line for a 5-1 lead in the second set.

Berrettini, already, serving to stay in contention.

There's no way past 'Mr Elastic' Djokovic at the net either for Berrettini, who watches the Serb's volley bounce out of view.

The world number one is cruising towards the second set now as he moves to 40-0, but a loose shot drifts into the net and it's 40-30...

Djokovic still looked tense at the end of the first set, not anymore. The shoulders loosen as he clubs that double-handed backhand winner down the line, nailing his eighth winner of the second set. Not one unforced error yet, according to the number-crunchers.

I still think Novak is upset at losing the first set, the frustration shows, he speeds up his game and often plays better.

He can lift his game at any moment in the match.

Berrettini is thinking 'I'm two breaks down, should I save some energy, should I keep fighting?'.

Berrettini hits back, a fizzing first serve moving him ahead in the game.

Djokovic lets him off the hook at 30-30 with a slack forehand into the tramlines, and the Italian's seventh ace of the match secures the hold. Berrettini on the board.

That's stunning from Novak Djokovic. A bullet of a backhand down the line gives Berrettini no hope. I'm sure he wanted to smile at that but he doesn't allow himself to lose focus. 0-15.

Djokovic, trailing by one set, to serve for a commanding 4-0 lead on Centre Court now as he seeks to level this final.

Never in doubt. Djokovic has a steely look in his eye now and finishes off a hold to love to send a real message to Berrettini.

Djokovic is starting to move well. He has really zoned in now - a total focus in his eyes.

Berrettini is just trying to bludgeon his way through Djokovic's defences but getting a little reminder that Djokovic is not going away easily.

Even that stun volley from Berrettini to save the second break point draws praise from Djokovic. The Serb claps his racquet and juts out his bottom lip while nodding as if to say 'too good'.

Always very generous in handing out applause to his opponents is Djokovic.

Well then. The second set is quickly getting away from Matteo Berrettini here.

He nets at break point and Djokovic has a 3-0 lead.

Another break point opportunity for Novak Djokovic as he gets a grip on a second serve from Berrettini.

And it's saved again by the Italian, who chops a low volley back over the net.

The trouble isn't going away though... a third chance for Djokovic.

Well rescued by Berrettini.

The Italian sends Djokovic scrambling across the baseline and he can't dig out a return. We go to deuce.
