Brilliant serve from Naomi Osaka that Jen Brady does well to get, Osaka darts forward and just feathers the ball over - but Brady pulls off an unbelievable get to lob her and set up break point!

It's interesting to see Jen Brady is able to stick with Naomi Osaka's big hitting, both players sending huge shots back at one another.

Osaka sends consecutive backhands over the line to give Brady a 0-30 lead, but her first serve returns to put her back on equal pegging.

Osaka is like a boxer hitting a punchbag the way she lines up her shots with ruthless, brutal power behind them.

That is a terrific backhand from Jennifer Brady, full of power, and a serve down the T gives her an excellent hold.

Brady - who had just turned to her box and yelled "first serve!" in annoyance - promptly rattles down an ace to get the advantage.

That's another miss from the American, though.

Naomi Osaka can't make a look at a second serve count, sending her response long, but we go back to deuce as Jennifer Brady goes wild on a forehand.

Brady is gesturing to herself a little bit about her tactics.

She's got to be careful about running around her forehand because she's leaving the rest of the court wide open.

But it's great it's competitive - I was nervous we wouldn't see Brady at her best.

Jen Brady is stretched on the backhand side, just bunting a ball back, trying to keep this rally alive, and she's rewarded with Naomi Osaka cracking a forehand over the tramlines.

This is a better service game from Osaka, sending a big first serve straight through Brady's defences, and she registers a good hold.

Shot! A good swing of the racquet from Jen Brady and she fires a backhand winner away.

A one-two punch, this time Brady swinging into the forehand, keeps the momentum with her, and she holds to love as Naomi Osaka errs on the forehand.

Brady needed that to stay in the set, get the crowd going, and rebound well from losing her serve.

There was a proper fist-pump at the end of the game, she ran to her seat for the change of ends and is looking very positive - she's in this.
