The first is saved with a rocket of a first serve from Alexei Popyrin. One to go...
Nadal 6-3 6-2 5-5 Popyrin*
We're past the two-hour mark. Rafa Nadal was probably hoping to be back in the locker room by now.
Alexei Popyrin lets another loose overhead pass him by, letting Nadal off the hook in the process.
And all of a sudden the defending champion has two break points.
Nadal 6-3 6-2 5-5 Popyrin*
Good hustle from Alexei Popyrin and some lovely shot selection too. He gets on the board in the Nadal service game but then comes a fizzer from the Spaniard and he holds. All square again in this set.
*Nadal 6-3 6-2 4-5 Popyrin
Popyrin catches the tape and Nadal dashes on to the short ball to punch it away down the line with a forehand, before following up with a meaty serve down the T. 40-0.

We know he's going to get tight. He knows he's going to get tight. There's nothing that can be done about it.
The four Grand Slams have offered their "support and assistance" to Naomi Osaka after the four-time major champion pulled out of the French Open yesterday.
Osaka, 23, withdrew from the tournament after the Grand Slams - Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open - said she faced expulsion for not talking to the media.
The Japanese world number two originally said she did not want to do interviews to protect her mental health, then revealed in yesterday's statement that she has been suffering with "bouts of depression".
"We commend Naomi for sharing in her own words the pressures and anxieties she is feeling and we empathise with the unique pressures tennis players may face," said the Grand Slams.

Popyrin deserves this set - he's played some incredible tennis, he's really locked in at the moment
Nadal 6-3 6-2 3-5 Popyrin*
But again he goes long!
Rafael Nadal just dices it up into the air from behind the baseline and the Australian fires long.
Nadal 6-3 6-2 3-5 Popyrin*
Yes, he can. A wide serve followed up with a punchy forehand winner. Set point number two for Popyrin.
Nadal 6-3 6-2 3-5 Popyrin*
Nadal saves! Deuce. Can the Australian calm himself once more?
Nadal 6-3 6-2 3-5 Popyrin*
An overhead on the bounce from Alexei Popyrin that flirts with the line and the Australian has set point.
Nadal 6-3 6-2 3-5 Popyrin*
Serve and volle...oh, no! It was on a plate for Popyrin, but comes off the strings blue. He just undercooked it and instead leaks his volley into the net.
The next slice is bold and brilliant, a nice disguise on it too to fox Nadal. 30-30.
Nadal 6-3 6-2 3-5 Popyrin*
The Australian goes for one of those cannon-ball like forehands from mid-court but fires long, he makes no mistake off the next point though and Rafael Nadal is forced uncomfortably wide. 15-15.
Nadal 6-3 6-2 3-5 Popyrin*
And a hold to love for the defending champion. Alexei Popyrin will serve for the set...

Rafael Nadal going through the motions, trying to take the sting out of Popyrin's confidence, and he does with a quick sweep of points to reach 40-0.
*Nadal 6-3 6-2 2-5 Popyrin
Rafael Nadal is unhappy about something here, he's having a natter with the umpire. Alexei Popyrin takes a swig of water in his chair and heads to the back of the court to receive.
*Nadal 6-3 6-2 2-5 Popyrin
The confidence is flowing right now as Alexei Popyrin stings a forehand down the line and edges his way to 40-0 on serve, before Nadal cups a return long.

It does show elements of Popryin's game can be effective and he's a break up in this third set.
This service game is so key to back up the break.
Really has shut Nadal out of his service games.
