Majestic. Cerundolo's feet looked set in cement as Rafa wrong-foots him with a tidy forehand winner. But he faces another break point...

The space was there. Rafael Nadal knew it, Francisco Cerundolo knew it, the Centre Court turf glistening in the evening sunshine was expecting to welcome it... but instead Rafa finds the tape.

And now he finds himself facing two break points.

With all due respect I have been surprised at how well Cerundolo has played here.

I watched him at Queen's and he looked like a fish out of water, but with some hard work and some match play his game has improved massively.

Francisco Cerundolo puffs out his cheeks and tosses his racquet from one hand to the other, he's steadily going about his business and clinging on to his place in this match. Another good hold for the world number 41.

It's been a bad start for Britain's Liam Broady as he has just lost the first set in his match against world number 243 Lukas Klein.

The qualifier from Slovakia broke Broady's serve at the first time of asking and the world number 132 could not recover. Still plenty of time for a fightback though.

Bergs and Draper exchange mini-breaks in the third set tie-break but the Briton edges ahead at 3-4 before finding a cross-court winner to conclude a 14-stroke rally.

Rafael Nadal dusts off a speedy hold, thanks largely to Francisco Cerundolo's frame taking centre stage.

A double fault for the Argentine, but he responds superbly - Cerundolo skips round a forehand and delivers a rocket of a ball that a scampering Nadal cannot get back. He holds. Nadal has a face like someone's moved one of his bottles of water out of line.

Bergs brings up his first set point, but Draper takes it back to deuce before hammering his 10th ace down the middle.

But Bergs wins the next point and then bags his second set point with an exceptional full-stretch volley after another bruising rally. Unbelievable effort.

The Belgian misses his chance, though, as Draper forces a tie-break after an eight-minute game.

Differing expressions from the pair illustrate how Cerundolo has made a fight of this third set again.

The Argentine raises both arms to the air like a WWE wrestler about to do a finishing move and, a point later, Nadal cartoonishly slaps his thigh in a fit of annoyance.

Francisco Cerundolo continues to play some lovely tennis but it's hard to break down the great man, and the fluff keeps finding its way back to his end of the court. Rafa Nadal slides across the baseline to execute a backhand but can only prod it into the tape. 30-30.

This has really come out of nowhere - Cerundolo two sets and a break down has nothing to lose, and you do tend to go for your shots more, and why not.
