    Flipkens 5-7 4-6 Halep

At 30-30 in this potentially decisive game, Simona Halep hammers her first ace of the match and then seals the win with an unreturnable serve!

It's a big win for Halep, but defeat marks the end of Kirsten Flipkens' singles career.

The players share an embrace at the net before the Belgian is given a rousing reception out on court two.

She's in tears as she waves to the crowd and the 36-year-old, a semi-finalist here in 2013, kneels down to kiss the court.

    Moving scenes.

Just as in his opener on his return to SW19, Rafael Nadal concedes the third set and is made to play on a little longer than he'd hope. But will it be the same outcome this time?

Credit where credit is due, Ricardas Berankis has stuck to his task despite the size of the challenge facing him. Out comes the sun, and the Lithuanian springs back to his feet ready to get stuck in once again...

  5. Draper breaks in opening gamepublished at 18:25 British Summer Time 30 June 2022

    De Minaur 0-1 Draper*

Briton's Jack Draper is under way against 19th seed Alex De Minaur on Court One - and what a start he's made.

The 20-year-old has broken the Australian's serve in the opening game of the match.

Is there room for another British shock? Sorry. Far too early days, yet.

    Bernakis 4-6 4-6 6-4 Nadal

Ricardas Bernakis gets the hold he needs, confirmed with a Hawk-Eye check to confirm a Nadal forehand had drifted long and that is a set for Bernakis. Into a fourth we go.

Game, set and match Nakashimapublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 30 June 2022

    Nakashima 6-2 4-6 6-1 7-6 (8-6)

Last year's semi-finalist Denis Shapovalov is a goner, falling in four sets to American Brandon Nakashima.

The Canadian is in a real slump in form - since beating Rafael Nadal on clay at the Italian Open, he has lost seven of his past eight matches.

Nakashima doesn't need to worry about that - he moves on to play Colombia's Daniel Elahi Galan in the third round.

Nadal sweeps through his service game in the same emphatic fashion that Berankis did minutes earlier.

    *Berankis 4-6 4-6 3-2 Nadal

Berankis was almost in dreamland with a double break in the third, but Rafael Nadal fends it off, although the underdog still has a break advantage in this set.

All credit to Berankis, this is proving to be a much tougher match for Nadal than many expected.

    Berankis 4-6 4-6 3-1 Nadal*

A brilliant return from Berankis is straight back at the Nadal toes and the Spaniard can only send the ball towards the crowd. That gave Berankis a chance for a double break, but Nadal's since got it back to deuce.

    Berankis 4-6 4-6 3-1 Nadal*

Top work from Berankis who manages to keep the two-game advantage by holding his serve. Rafael Nadal went four sets in round one, will he be doing the same today?

  18. Postpublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 30 June 2022

Game, set and match - Swiatekpublished at 17:51 British Summer Time 30 June 2022

    Swiatek 6-4 4-6 6-3 Pattinama Kerkhove

After two hours and four minutes, Iga Swiatek brings up two match points.

Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove's forehand is wide and the top seed advances!

That's her 37th win in a row and Swiatek ties Martina Hingis for the most consecutive WTA wins since 1990.

But she was certainly made to work for it - all credit to Pattinama Kerkhove, who showed a lot of spirit out on Court One.
