  3. Tough times for Muguruzapublished at 19:02 British Summer Time 30 June 2022

At the end of 2021, Garbine Muguruza was triumphant at the WTA Finals and it looked as though she would start 2022 with a lot of confidence, but it all ended in tears yesterday.

She won Wimbledon in 2017, but couldn't contain her emotions in the final changeover in her match with Greet Minen, who won 6-4 6-0.

The two-time Slam champion has now gone 1-3 in Slams this year, winning just eight from 20 matches this year. We hope she can find those good feelings again too.

In a social media post after that loss, she said the following...

    Boulter 3-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 Pliskova

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Katie Boulter has been talking to BBC Radio 5 Live on why her Centre Court win over Karolina Pliskova earlier today meant so much, after her grandmother passed away two days ago.

"It was a pretty tough moment for me," said Boulter. "I wasn't sure if I was actually going to stay here or not but I thought I would stay in the moment.

"She was a huge tennis fanatic and a huge fan of Wimbledon and would come every year, and it hurt that she wasn't here but I am sure she would have been proud."

    Absolutely teeming it down!

But the roof is remaining open because the covers are deemed sufficient protection.

The expectation is the downpour will pass soon enough.

When the rain comes down even harder, more people scatter from the uncovered seats.

A hardy few souls remain unmoved.

Joe Salisbury is one step closer to achieving his ultimate career goal of winning the Wimbledon men's doubles.

Local lad Salisbury is the world number one but can still manage to wander around Wimbledon Village without too much fuss.

That's exactly how he likes it.

Similar with fellow Brit Neal Skupski, who is one half of the best pair on the ATP Tour this year.

Here's a piece on why both are happy to keep things low-key as they aim to claim the title which would mean the most.
