Right then, yes, the tennis. That's why we're really here.

A huge cheer goes up as Heather Watson steps up to serve in the opening game.

A couple of errors give Jule Niemeier hope, but the British number four is up and running in her first major fourth round match!

    Watson 1-0 Niemeier*

Heather Watson missed the chance to move to game point without dropping a point, smashing a backhand into the net from close range at 30-0 up.

It's Jule Niemeier's turn to meet the net next though, before Watson fires long off the backhand.

But Niemeier flips a forehand between the tramlines and that's a Watson hold to get us started.

Heather Watson's mum Michelle has been loving life in the Wimbledon crowd. Watson jr sang her mum's praises in a BBC TV interview, saying: "Looking over at my team who have been with me for 10 years plus. I'm just so grateful to them for sticking by me when things aren't going well.

"I'm so grateful to my mum for being so level-headed and supportive whether I win or lose. It's so important to have that balance. She's an amazing mum."

Stator: I was a ball boy on centre court at the 2004 Championships. An incredible experience. Just as the players are tense so were we! I remember waiting to go on centre in a side room, Sun peeking in, the crowd rapturous, the fizz of the balls behind the doors

On Heather Watson's opponent, Germany's Jule Niemeier: She should not be under-estimated.

Niemeier is unseeded but took out second seed Anett Kontaveit in the second round and got a good win over Lesia Tsurenko in the third round - she has got a big serve and a big forehand.

It will be her first time out there on Centre Court, so there are a few unknowns but Heather has played her previously - it was a tight match when she beat her earlier this year - and I am feeling good for Heather.

    Watson v Niemeier

Let's turn our attentions to Heather Watson. She's due on Centre Court any moment now for her fourth-round tie with Jule Niemeier.

This is the second meeting between Watson and Niemeier, Watson beating the German in three sets in Monterrey earlier this year.

Speaking of her world number 97 opponent, Watson said: "She's a good player, really, really good player.

"Rankings, honestly, I don't care what anybody's rankings are. Everybody's good.

"When I played her [in Monterrey] she was outside the top 100. I remember saying to my team, 'This girl will be in the top 100 in no time'. It'll be a hard match."
