This match is going right to the wire - Jonny O'Mara and Alicia Barnett have broken back and we are at 4-4 in the third and final set.

Once again, it's a corker of a shot from O'Mara to get the break.

Jannik Sinner can see the finish line yet again but this time he's got that service break in hand. You'd expect him to push hard now on the return to try and finish it with a break of serve and not go through the stress of trying to serve it out.

    Sinner 6-1 6-4 6-7 (8-10) 5-2 Alcaraz*

No problems on the Sinner serve this time. An ace takes the Italian to 40-0 and another big serve seals the deal.

The 10th seed has already had two match-points of course, but the finish line is in sight again - he is now only one game away from a place in the quarter-finals.

    Sinner 6-1 6-4 6-7 (8-10) 4-1 Alcaraz*

It seems like everyone is wobbling on Centre Court now - a Sinner double-fault leaves him in big trouble at 0-40.

Two big serves and a tricky overhead later, we are back at deuce.

Alcaraz dumps his next backhand into the net and then comes out grinning after an epic exchange on the next point to hold, just.

That was big. We have just seen the Sinner grin again - it's been a while.

    Mertens 6-6 Jabeur

We're into a first set tie-break on Court One. Ons Jabeur and Elise Mertens shared breaks early in the first set, then Jabeur was 4-3 and a break ahead before Mertens fought back.

    *Sinner 6-1 6-4 6-7 (8-10) 3-1 Alcaraz

Hang on, maybe we spoke too soon. Sinner is a winner again, not a loser...

Alcaraz has been steadily striding back into this match for the past set-and-a-half but he just took several backward steps, firstly with some wild groundstrokes that leave him at 15-40.

A delicious drop-shot rescues one break point but then the Spanish teenager double-faults at 30-40, handing Sinner the break. Who saw that coming?

What a turnaround from Jonny O'Mara and Alicia Barnett as they take us into a decider. At 4-4, Barnett produces three superb winning volleys in a row to get her partner out of a 0-30 hole.

Then, on Murray's serve, O'Mara stepped up, with a fantastic reaction volley to bring up set point and then a blink-and-you'll-miss-it return winner.

Barnett reacted by waving her arms to whip up the court two crowd - not that they needed it. Most may want Williams and Murray to win but they're more than happy to have another set.

    Sinner 6-1 6-4 6-7 (8-10) 2-1 Alcaraz*

We found out he was a top junior skier earlier but it's not such good news for Sinner that he is going downhill pretty fast at the moment.

The 20-year-old is suddenly having to work hard for every hold and in every way - serve, forehand and backhand - he seems to be a shadow of the player he was earlier in the match.

He finds a way of holding again here, but Alcaraz is looking very lively on almost every point.

What do Jamie Murray and Venus Williams have in response? They're still a set to the good.

    Mertens 3-4 Jabeur*

Third seed Ons Jabeur got to the Wimbledon quarter-finals in 2021, matching her best run at a slam, and she's on course for another appearance in the last eight as she's a break of serve ahead against 24th seed Elise Mertens of Belgium.

Marie Bouzkova, down in 66th in the world rankings, awaits the winner.

A 360 degree pirouette to get out of the way from Alicia Barnett as a Jamie Murray volley lands at her feet on the baseline. It's called out and Murray/Williams challenge but it is long. Good hold for Barnett and Jonny O'Mara to stay within one break in the second set.

    Sinner 6-1 6-4 6-7 (8-10) 1-0 Alcaraz*

Has the tide turned on Centre Court? Maybe... well, a bit.

Carlos Alcaraz saved two match-points in that third set tie-break and he came out swinging at the start of the fourth, putting real pressure on the Sinner serve for the first time.

Sinner is suddenly showing a few cracks, dumping a routine volley into the net, but he is not exactly crumbling - saving two break points to secure a very important hold.

A mid-rally Venus Williams shriek brings laughter to court two as she scrambles to retrieve the ball on break point to her and Jamie Murray. She continues to scamper along the baseline and eventually forces the error from O'Mara and Barnett. A set and a break to the good now for the fan favourites.
