The first trophy of this year's tournament will be handed out tonight as Britain's Neal Skupski and American partner Desirae Krawczyk defend their mixed doubles crown last up on Centre Court.

The shift to Thursday night is a change to the traditional Wimbledon schedule that has seen the mixed doubles final close out the tournament as the last match on Sunday in the past.

Skupski and Krawczyk beat Brits Joe Salisbury and Harriet Dart to win the title last year - Skupski's first Grand Slam triumph - and the second seeds face Australian duo Matthew Ebden and Sam Stosur in today's final.

Skupski, who lost a five-setter with Wesley Koolhof to Ebden and Max Purcell in the men's doubles, said: "I will certainly look for revenge. We're looking forward to it and hopefully we can defend our title."

You can watch that match at the top of this page from around 19:00 BST.

And a last bit from British number one Cam Norrie before his first Grand Slam semi-final, on his achievement so far: "It’s not sunk in yet. I’m still going in the tournament. Obviously there’s a lot of hype and people following all around the world.

"It’s a lot to take in right now but I’m going to have to try and bring it down again and go back to basics. It only gets tougher.

"I’ve got to get ready for the biggest match of my career. I’m going to be as ready as I can be."

On how his family are coping: "They’re loving it. Seeing their emotions in the box. It’s cool they’re here to watch. I’m glad they picked this one to come to. They timed it right."

  4. 'I'm as ready as I can be'published at 17:42 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

On his meeting with Novak Djokovic, Norrie added: "It’s going to be a tough one with his record here at Wimbledon. Obviously grass is his favourite surface. I would say one of the tougher tasks in tennis.

"I played him in Turin last year and I think I went in with the wrong tactics. I’ll have to learn from those. Yesterday I lost concentration a couple of times and I won’t be able to do that with Novak. I’ll have to raise my game.

"Surprisingly I feel ok. I’m still riding with adrenaline. It was tough to relax after the match. It was a huge day. It was really tough last night. I was lying in bed replaying moments from the match and it was tough to get some sleep.

"I’ve got a couple of days to try and calm it down. Still got a long way to go and got another bigger match ahead of me.

"I’m as ready as I can be. I don’t think you can prepare for stuff like this. That’s what comes with it. Even riding my bike around I’m getting a couple of looks. Even that’s just cool to see."

  5. Norrie left 'speechless' after quarter-final winpublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

Britain's Cameron Norrie has been chatting to BBC Sport ahead of his meeting with Novak Djokovic tomorrow.

On his five-set quarter-final win over David Goffin he said: "I knew going in it was a huge opportunity and the biggest match of my career. It was a crazy atmosphere from the get go.

"It all hit me towards the end of the match. All the emotions hit me at once and I was a bit speechless towards the end.

"I managed to use the crowd to my advantage and I think that was the difference in the end.

"It was a rollercoaster of a match. I almost didn’t know what to do. All my family there watching and my whole team behind me. I have such a great supportive team and I couldn’t have done it without them.

"Hopefully there is more to come. There is still a long way to go to win the title and it’s a tough one next."

Elena Rybakina is also the fourth lowest ranked female player to reach the final of the women's singles event at Wimbledon since 1984.

Only Serena Williams in 2018 (181), Venus Williams in 2007 (31) and Sabine Lisicki in 2013 (24) have managed the feat when ranked lower than world number 23 Rybakina.

Elena Rybakina speaking on Centre Court after her semi-final victory against Simona Halep:

"It was a great match. Simona [Halep] is a great champion and we had many tough matches before. I was really focused today and I'm really happy with my performance because I think I played really solid today.

"I was nervous of course but I think the matches before helped me with my first match on Court One the other day and today was Centre Court for the first time but I think the atmospheres I've had have helped me. When I came out I was nervous but I'm really happy I managed to win.

"I don't know how to describe it, it was really good, today I was mentally prepared and did everything I could and it was an amazing match.

"I think it's going to be a great match [against Ons Jabeur], she's a great player, very tricky player, it's not going to be easy to play against her drop shots and volleys. I think it will be a great match and I will enjoy it, I think I already did the work so it's time to enjoy it out on court."

Simona Halep understandably has so much disappointment, she really felt she could win it this year and she was playing so well.

This day belongs to this lady, Elena Rybakina, she played so well from start to finish. So much credit to her - never been in a semi-finals and comes out to Centre Court for the first time and plays probably the match of her life.
