    Rybakina 6-3 5-3 Halep*

When there's a look at a second serve, Simona Halep is taking her chances.

But when Rybakina does connect with a first serve, she's got little hope.

Her fifth ace of the match - her 217th of the season - clinches the hold to take her one game away from the Wimbledon final.

You train yourself as an athlete to not think of the finish line, because if you do you're done. You just have to think about the next points and how you're going to play those points. Elena Rybakina needs to come in on the front foot, she gives Simona Halep time when she sits back.

Simona Halep won't stop fighting until this is over, that much we know.

    Ram/Salisbury 6-3 7-6 (7-1) 6-7 (9-11) 4-6 1-4 Ebden/Purcell*

From two sets down, having saved five match points, they now have the men's doubles semi-final firmly in their own hands.

A big break of serve early in the deciding set for the Australians. What do Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram have left? They must hold now at 4-1 down or it's game over, surely.

Superb serving from Elena Rybakina. An ace gets her started and another powerful first serve moves her 30-15 up.

A final ace seals the deal. That's an emphatic response to being broken for the first time in her previous game.

The first-time major semi-finalist is two games away from a first Slam final!

There is so much pressure - you start to overthink everything at this point and it's a lot harder than it seems when you're not in the right rhythm.

That was an important game for Simona Halep to win to stay close enough to Elena Rybakina - she needs to stay in it because once you get to that last stage of the set when the nerves start to crawl in maybe she will have a better chance to break.

    *Rybakina 6-3 2-1 Halep

Simona Halep can't afford any more mistakes on serve now.

A hold is required before she can think about applying some pressure on her opponent's serve and creating a first break point opportunity, and she manages to do just that.

She picks off Rybakina with consecutive winners to take charge and holds relatively comfortably to 15 to remain in touch.

    Rybakina 6-3 2-0 Halep*

Nicely done by Simona Halep, who steps up to wrong-foot Elena Rybakina with a forehand for 40-30, but Rybakina consolidates her early advantage.

  20. Game and fourth set - Ebden/Purcellpublished at 16:40 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    *Ram/Salisbury 6-3 7-6 (7-1) 6-7 (9-11) 4-6 Ebden/Purcell*

Ram and Salisbury saved three set points on the American's serve.

But they could not save a fourth.

We're into a deciding set after three hours and 24 minutes of the first men's doubles semi-final.

Britain's Salisbury has lost semi-finals here in 2018 and 2021. Can he and Ram reverse the momentum? They had five match points in the third-set tie-break, remember.
