I think Djokovic is in the zone mentally now. It looks like it's his match to lose.

One of our first posts in this live page offered survival tips Will. Coffee, a torch and the syrup from canned fruit salad. You'll get through with them.

Nadal has 'Rafa' stitched into the back of his shoes. Just in case he forgets his gym kit maybe. It's not done with Tipp-ex though.
Novak Djokovic sits with a towel around his neck like he's about to saunter onto Miami beach. He's 4-1 up in this set after a hold.

Ben Roach: Unbelievable tennis. Even more unbelievable that it started at 21:00 - the eventual winner is going to suffer in the later rounds!
John McEnroe is talking about snooker on Eurosport. He asks "do they play snooker matches this late?"
The next time he's at Wimbledon, we need the boy Jonathan Jurejko to screen Davis-Taylor for him. All of it.

They've played each other 58 times before tonight but I've rarely remembered tension like this.

Novak Djokovic holds to love. Sweeping away the closing point with a mild arrogance.
Hang in there everyone. We always knew we'd need to dig in.

Oh my goodness, the tensions are mounting.
The way Djokovic circled the mark was very aggressive, but Nadal is angry.
Each time I type 'big break' I can't help but think of Saturday nights.
The thrill when someone potted the blue in the blue pocket for double money.
Unbeatable.

Ah wow. The margins... the margins.
Rafa Nadal is break-point down and plays a shot from the heavens across court. It barely crosses the net but it looks out of this world.
He pumps his fist but then the umpire gets involved, the pair have words and we see from replays the ball was a fraction out.
Game Djokovic. Break Djokovic.
Massive.

The Roland Garros crowd don't need an excuse to starting whistling and jeering.
So they relish the opportunity given to them by Djokovic showing his annoyance and bludgeoning the net with his racquet.

That's why Djokovic hasn't shown much emotion out here because it doesn't take much for the crowd to get on top of you.

Novak Djokovic smashes the net with his racquet in frustration. I used to do that as a kid, only our net was a traffic cone so you'd end up with a bent racquet as punishment.
Djokovic gets told off.
He is in full defence mood on the next point and as he gets a ball back it must break his heart to see Nadal just sliding into the net like he's setting off a stone for the GB curling team. He converts the volley.
It's 30-30 on the Nadal serve.

I'm amazed Djokovic went for that drop shot. It's such a risky play so that was either bravery or madness, but he came out on top.

C'est magnifique.
Djokovic drops a peach from the back of the court. Nadal spills his soul to make it but can't. Sublime touch. That's 40-30 and the Serb gets it done to hold.
No sign of him wilting.

As the GMT clock ticks past midnight and the match clock comes up to the three-hour mark, empty seats have appeared in the lower bowl of Chatrier.
Not many mind, but a good few. Will be interesting if more decide to catch the last Metro home at the end of this set.
Can't see a mass exodus to be honest. Worth a surged Uber fare, this one.

Djokovic seems very deflated at the moment. The energy was all his at the end of the second set but Nadal has taken the third.
