*Nadal 7-6 (10-8) 5-6 Zverev
That's a hold for Zverev. Nadal now serving to force a second set tie-break, after he took the first set via that method 10-8.

After the siesta earlier in this set, Chatrier has woken up.
That's because Nadal has stirred.
Moments after those on court shout 'Rafa! Rafa! Rafa!", we hear the same chant drift into the stadium.
Through the gap between roof and stand, those watching outside on the big screen in Jardin Des Mousquetaires make their feelings known.
Both men are chasing down everything that seems a lost cause, giving absolutely everything.
Let's hope the final on Sunday is going to be as good, but which of these two men will be playing in it?

I don't think I've ever seen a more miserable looking box than Zverev's right now. His coach Sergi Bruguera just looks like he doesn't want to be there.
Nadal 7-6 (10-8) 5-5 Zverev*
Rafael Nadal gets the fans singing with a delightful cross-court passing winner. 0-30 and Nadal is looking for a break and the crowd are playing their part.

I am not surprised that Zverev is missing these shots any more. Neither of them are playing well. It's going to be messy, it's going to be scrappy, and we're still going to be here in two and a half hours!
Nadal 7-6 (10-8) 5-5 Zverev*
Nadal holds - that's his first one in this set and we're at 5-5. Two hours 49 minutes and we've still got loads to go in the second set.
If this goes the distance it could easily pass the five-hour mark.
Ruud and Cilic wait and wait and wait.
Nadal has won three points on the bounce for 40-30, after Zverev goes long with an overhead.

Nadal has not held serve yet in this set. This would be a good time to change that.
On the Nadal serve, it's 0-30, Zverev two points from taking a crazy second set.
*Nadal 7-6 (10-8) 4-5 Zverev

Zverev's coach is not even trying to pretend that he's not annoyed. He is absolutely fuming at what Zverev is doing in this match. It is so tough to watch him sometimes. He just cannot control the nerves or the tightness on his serve.
*Nadal 7-6 (10-8) 4-5 Zverev
A game to wipe from the memory for Zverev. He was serving for the set, gets a warning for screaming out something, then gifts the break to Nadal with a double fault.
That's now nine games in this set - and eight breaks of serve. No matter what though, it's absolutely compelling. You can't take your eyes off this one.
Zverev, still fuming after that exchange with the chair umpire, goes long and Nadal has a break point in a game he needs to take to keep the set alive.

Zverev has been given a code violation for an obscenity. He's telling the umpire "I did not say nothing bad, I did not say that word."
Nadal 7-6 (10-8) 3-5 Zverev*
Some frustration from Zverev who screams out. He gets a warning from the chair umpire, with Zverev telling him "I didn't say that bad word, why are you giving me a warning?"
Bad word or not, Zverev is still within touching distance of this set.

Not often you see Nadal miss an overhead. Sure he also did against Djokovic but that wasn't costly as this one.
After the forehand into the net, Nadal furrows his brow with his fingertips, screws up his face and shakes his head.
The sort of thing you do when your laptop crashes without saving work and you're counting to 10 to keep the rage inside.
Nadal 7-6 (10-8) 3-5 Zverev*
That missed overhead from Nadal proves costly and he then only finds the top of the net. He has now been broken four times in this second set. Zverev now serving for the set.
The first set lasted an hour and a half, this one has gone past an hour already.
