    What a point! What a reaction!!

    This is how Djokovic - and the Ashe crowd - responded to that sensational exchange which somehow ended in the Serb’s favour.

    After umpire Greg Allensworth sensibly allowed the players an extra few seconds before starting the shot clock, Medvedev came up with the perfect riposte.

    It is going to be very tough for Djokovic if he does lose this set, We know how strong he is mentally, and he has on a lot of these extended rallies, which will give him hope.

    Thank goodness Daniil Medvedev showed up in the second set.

    The crowd are on their feet as Medvedev fails to kill the game with a volley at the net and Djokovic takes full advantage as he produces a forehand winner under intense pressure.

    The beauty of it distracts from the fact that it has also brought him to deuce - but Medvedev responds well to ensure he will at least have a shot at a tie-break here.

    Djokovic was asking the crowd for more noise like a WWE wrestler before a finishing move.

    He even had a slight stagger before pushing his shoulders back and puffing his chest out.

    The Serb turns to his team and clearly isn't happy right now.

    He blinks first at the end of another lengthy baseline exchange to bring Medvedev to 40-30. It really is a grind for the three-time champion at the moment.

    Medvedev continues to apply pressure and Djokovic yields, chopping a backhand wide for 0-15.
