Laurent Lokoli is getting more into this, and he's enjoying his role as the Nick Kyrgios replacement, as this was the match slot. He's gesturing to the crowd a lot more and they are responding.

Now then, a Cachin return right to the feet of Djokovic forces an error and brings up 15-30.

But the Serb just bangs down two aces in response, seemingly able to step up gears at will. Three straight points to consolidate his advantage in this second set.

It's been a much better second set for Laurent Lokoli. Fourth seed Casper Ruud can't break the Frenchman down and we stay on serve in the second on Court One.

That was a very good game from Cachin, you can see how confident he is from the back of the court. He's used to playing clay court matches.

  5. Isner in demandpublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 3 July 2023

One court that is really drawing the crowds is Court 16. That’s where former Wimbledon semi-finalist John Isner is taking on Spain’s Jaume Munar.

He is currently level at 3-3 in the opening set but it’s like sardines trying to get a good vantage point to see the popular American.

    Broady 6-1 Lestienne

It's so far, so very good for Liam Broady over on court 15.

The Briton has cruised through the opening set, taking it 6-1 against French player Constant Lestienne.

That took him just 27 minutes - either side of the lengthy rain delay. A fine start as he looks to reach the second round for a third successive year.

A decent service game from Cachin in the face of some trademark vicious Djokovic returns.

The Argentine is taken to deuce after sending a serve-volley attempt into the net but regroups to hold serve with a drop shot that the Serb just fails to get back over the net.

He follows it up with an ace as Cachin shakes his head, the gravity of the challenge ahead beginning to dawn on the Argentine debutant.

A third service hold to love in this set.

The covers are off across the courts at SW19!

It’s now a race to get a good spot before the players return to court and get play back under way.

Some fans braved it under brollies so they could hold on to their seat but many have been off to get some refreshments and are now trying to work out where they want to head to.

It’s still a bit windy but very mild and doesn’t feel like there’s any imminent threat of rain so hopefully we can get cracking pretty soon.

The roof was closed from 14:35 to 15:40, but not a single ball was hit in that time.
