    The 43-year-old American is edging the support, though, as the near-full stadium wills her on.

    Think everyone is just hoping she makes it through this match without having to retire or do any serious damage.

    The players couldn't be moving and walking more differently. Venus slowly walked towards her chair and it was a bit of an effort to sit into it, but Svitolina is bouncing around. She wants to get on with this match, and bring as much energy, She is having to cope with so much pace.

    The grass courts are Wimbledon at always lush on the first couple of days, which often leads to players slipping more.

    Many of you will remember Venus Williams' younger sister Serena falling during her match here in 2021 and having to retire from her match against Aliaksandra Sasnovich as a result.

    Television replays showed Venus Williams seemed to hyperextend her leg in this evening's incident, but the assessment from the doctors did not lead to a medical time-out.

    She's barely moving out there, but who needs to move when you can whack away winners like she has been.

    Not sure that'll be enough to get her through to victory, though.
