The doors underneath the royal box on Centre Court swing open and out come Liam Broady and Casper Ruud to a warm round of applause.

"Let's go Liam," shouts one supporter.

Back on court 18, Polish flags and football scarves are waved from the grandstand behind the baseline where Hubert Hurkacz takes the applause.

Also a wonderful ovation for British number six Jan Choinski, who will be proud of his performance against the 2021 semi finalist.

Just a single break in the opening two sets, followed by the tie-breaker, shows there was little in it.

“Hey Jan - lovely game,” shouts one member of Team Hurkacz as the Brit pounds down the narrow walkway between the court and the broadcast centre.

Choinski looks up and thanks him in Polish.

While Casper Ruud has not progressed beyond the second round at Wimbledon, he is the player in form heading into this match.

Liam Broady, however, has the home crowd behind him and he secured an impressive 6-3 6-1 7-5 victory over France's world number 74 Constant Lestienne in the first round.

Broady is hoping to improve on his run to the third round of last year's tournament.

Casper Ruud reached the final of the French Open last month, where he was beaten by Novak Djokovic.

The Norwegian, not the biggest fan of grass-court tennis, then opted to play some golf, take part in some clay pigeon shooting, and go to the see The Weeknd not once, but twice ahead of Wimbledon, rather than play in any warm up events.

Will that laid back approach do the business? He beat Laurent Lokoli 6-1 5-7 6-4 6-3 in the first round but has never progressed beyond round two.

Quite a lot actually as we continue to play catch-up after the rain that has caused havoc this week.

    • On Centre Court at 13:30 BST, Britain's Liam Broady faces Casper Ruud in the second round before Elena Rybakina continues the defence of the women's singles title against France's Alize Cornet - then, third up, is the blockbuster round two meeting between Andy Murray and Stefanos Tsitsipas.
    • On Court One, men's 19th seed Alexander Zverev is finally about to get his campaign under way against Gijs Brouwer after two days of waiting and that's followed by two women's singles matches as Sloane Stephens meets Donna Vekic and fourth seed Jess Pegula faces Spain's Cristina Bucsa.
    • The sole British woman remaining in the singles draw, Katie Boulter, takes on Bulgaria's Viktoriya Tomova on court 12 this afternoon although exactly when is up in the air as there are two matches still to be completed before them.
    • There's a plethora of top stars in action on the outside courts too - seventh seed Andrey Rublev is currently in action on court two against fellow Russian Aslan Karatsev, while their compatriot Daniil Medvedev faces France's Adrian Mannarino last up.

    Andy Murray…

It's a busy day for two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray as he takes on Greek fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas on the third match on Centre Court later on in their round-two encounter.

Tsitsipas was involved in a thrilling five-set win over Dominic Thiem yesterday, while Murray finished his first-round match on Tuesday. Tsitsipas, who will play on Centre Court here for the first time in his career, is currently having a practice session on court five in the Aorangi Park training complex.

Murray began his campaign with a straight-set win over fellow Briton Ryan Peniston and tomorrow it will be the 10th anniversary of Murray's win over Novak Djokovic in the 2013 final for the first of his two singles' successes here with the second following three years later.

The 36-year-old Brit is keeping himself loose and has just turned up in the fitness training area, close to the practice courts, with dozens of players going through a variety of cardio, strength, mobility and stretching exercises.

It's straight on to an exercise bike for Murray followed by some loosening of the muscles. Will he be riding into round three later on today?
