Czechs Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova had been a tightknit women's doubles pairing since they were teenagers. Together, they won seven Grand Slam titles and Olympic gold in Tokyo. Despite that success, the former world numbers ones announced they would be parting ways at the start of this year.

They've won the last two titles at Melbourne Park but today on Margaret Court Arena, they were on opposite sides of the net with their new partners in the quarter-finals. It was third seeds Siniakova and Australian Storm Hunter who prevailed, coming from a set down to beat fifth seeds Krejcikova and Germany's Laura Siegemund 4-6 7-5 6-4.

On 1573 Arena, second seeds Su-Wei Hsieh of Chinese Taipei and Elise Mertens of Belgium won 6-4 6-2 against ninth seeds Brazil's Luisa Stefani and Dutchwoman Demi Schuurs.

It means the women's and men's doubles semi-final line-ups are now set, with the men set to play their final-four matches on Rod Laver Arena on Thursday and the women taking centre stage on Friday.

We've still got two more quarter-finals to come today!

In the night session on Rod Laver Arena, from 08:15 GMT, Chinese 12th seed Zheng Qinwen and Russia's Anna Kalinskaya will meet as they attempt to set up a semi-final against Ukraine's Dayana Yastremska, who earlier beat Czech teenager Linda Noskova 6-3 6-4.

Here's what Daniil Medvedev had to say following his quarter-final victory over Hubert Hurkacz:

"I feel a bit destroyed right now. He played good, I won't be tough on myself. I just had to try and do whatever I could. If I lose, I lose, it's OK. I really liked the match point."

On deciding how far back he would stand when receiving: "It was funny. After the press conference they were asking me about the return. I knew against Hubert, amazing at serve and volley, the ball continues to go up even if I stay back so it doesn't make sense to go there. I knew that I would go closer I just didn't want to tell anyone.

"Every time I play it is tough both for me and my opponent. I'm happy to make my opponents run and happy to run myself."

On saving a break point in the fifth set: "Sometimes the way Hubert plays, to give himself time, he puts the ball up a bit. I was so tired, playing against the wind, I didn't feel I had enough to win a point so I serve and volleyed."

On the schedule he has had: "It's all fine. Four in the morning is a tough situation. They played matches at 12, there were four-hour matches, it was almost like it was on purpose from the tennis players. I love this tournament and to be here, thanks for the support."
