  3. Christie stands tall as team-mates fallpublished at 15:27 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

British hope Elise Christie qualified for the short-track speed skating 500m quarter-finals by winning her heat.

The Scot was tipped to win a medal at Sochi 2014 when she went in a trio of events, but failed in her attempts. She will try to make the semi-finals on Tuesday.

Three of her short-track team-mates fell in their respective heats - Farrell Treacy (men's 1500m, Kathryn Thomson and Charlotte Gilmartin (both women's 500m).

There were also British fallers in the men's snowboard slopestyle with Jamie Nicholls, Billy Morgan and Rowan Coultas suffering on the Olympic course.

Elsewhere, Carlijn Achtereekte led a 1-2-3 for the Netherlands in the women's 3,000m speed skating, and Germany's Laura Dahlmeier won her first Olympic medal with success in the women's biathlon 7.5km sprint.

There was another German success in the men's ski jumping normal hill final as Andreas Wellinger took the glory.

Your Olympic champion is Germany's Andreas Wellinger! Everyone thought his teammate Richard Freitag would be the gold medallist but he came back and back again with phenomenal jumps.

It was a series of sensational jumps in the trickiest of conditions. Nobody could have predicted that podium. The defending Olympic champion and the world champion are off the podium!

Stefan Hula's effort is not good enough to get him a medal and that means Germany's Andreas Wellinger is the gold medallist.

It is all too much for the 22-year-old German to take as he is in tears. He is the champion. The German fans are bouncing, dancing and jumping. And not just to keep warm either. They are celebrating, and Wellinger can celebrate too.

  17. Tough goingpublished at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

Ski jumping: Men's normal hill individual final

This is hard going for these competitors. Gusts of wind are often delaying the jumpers, it is gone midnight, temperatures at about minus 12 and officials are trying to keep the competitors wrapped up in blankets before they get the green light to carry on.

We still have 10 more competitors to jump in this final. We may be here a while.

    Bobsleigh: Men's four-man event (Saturday, 24 February, 00:30 GMT)

Andrew Matthews, part of the British bobsleigh squad, may well be in South Korea, but that doesn't mean he can't pay attention to the football scores.

And it doesn't sound that he is too impressed with his Arsenal side losing 1-0 away at Tottenham in the North London derby.

Ski Jumping: Men's Normal Hill final

    Ollie Williams
    Commentator on BBC TV

From his grandmother's ladder to an incredible Olympic jump from Daniel Andre Tande. What a jump! Very, very solid.

Tande, who was afraid of heights as a child, took up ski jumping as a way to overcome his fears. Apparently he was even terrified of climbing to the top his grandmother's ladder.
