Canada's Charles Hamelin is penalised for an incident that saw South Korea's Hwang Daeheon crash out.

  10. Airborne... in the lugepublished at 12:13 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

Luge: Men's singles runs one and two

In the ski-jump, you want to be airborne for as long as possible. In the luge, it's not a good idea.

That is what we have just incredibly seen from Slovakia's Josef Ninis. Amazingly he doesn't crash and manages to complete his second run, although it has probably left his medal hopes in tatters. Incredible.

Watch on BBC Two right now for more luge carnage.

  16. Will the Dutch dominate again?published at 11:48 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

    Speed Skating: Ladies' 3,000m

The Dutch - the dominant force in Olympic long-track speed skating history - could begin another gold medal rush on the opening day in the women's 3,000m.

The four-time champion Ireen Wust won the titles at Turin 2006 and Sochi 2014 and secured her 12th world crown last February - and two further honours in Pyeongchang will make her the sport's most decorated Olympic medallist.

Fellow Dutchwoman Antoinette de Jong and Canadian Ivanie Blondin should provide strong challenges, as could Natalya Voronina.

With no Russian team following the well-documented doping scandal, Voronina is likely to be competing under a neutral flag and would be a contender, having won her maiden 3,000m World Cup in December.

James Stevenson: Just the start Elise Christie would have wanted. First over the line, fastest time (so far) and an Olympic record to boot. Flying start.
