  2. Catch-up: Canada reach curling finalpublished at 05:37 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2018

Did you miss the curling earlier on (or last night, depending on which way you look at it)?

Canada reached the mixed curling final by demolishing Norway 8-4.

They will meet either OAR or Switzerland in the final, with those two meeting later today.

You can see how the Canadians progressed right here...

    Women's halfpipe qualification

    Tim Warwood
    Snowboarding commentator on BBC TV

Definitely the weather is still playing havoc here.

The riders are being judged on amplitude, style, the variety of their tricks. Repeating tricks further down the pipe is therefore often frowned upon by the judges. When it's a really close contest, any inconsistencies or anything they can judge you down on, they will.

A few hours ago, the wind had a huge effect on the women's slopestyle and it is having its say again on the halfpipe.

I'm trying to imagine the bottle needed to snowboard up a ramp and hurl yourself into a somersault whilst it's blowing a hoolie.

    Women's halfpipe qualification

    Ed Leigh
    Snowboarding commentator on BBC TV

The more you're risking, the higher the scores here. Considering what all these women are capable of, the current qualification standard is low. It's a very, very achievable score.

    Women's halfpipe qualification

Remember, it's the top 12 from the field of 24 that will go through to the final.

All of the competitors have had the first of their two runs, with American wonderkid Chloe Kim leading the way.

Her score 91.50, is almost double that of China's Leng Qiu, who occupies the final qualification spot.

Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir’s free dance was the icing on the cake for Team Canada.

With team gold already guaranteed before they took to the ice they were able to perform with no pressure.

The kiss and cry area where the athletes get their scores lived up to its name when the Canadians celebrated on the sidelines.

I'm not sure what the GB skeleton team had for breakfast but I would like some!

Dominic Parsons has emulated his team-mate Laura Deas by being fastest in the second training run at the Alpensia Sliding Centre.

So a good day all round for the British skeleton athletes and they seem to feel at home on the track. They each have four more training runs before the competition starts later in the week.

    Women's halfpipe qualification

    Tim Warwood
    Snowboarding commentator on BBC TV

I'd like to say we're a million miles away from the slopestyle course, but we're not. We're about 400 metres away, so the wind is still very much a factor here too.

We'll have to wait and see how it affects the riders.

And so, after all of that, we move on.

We're sticking with snowboarding and we stay at the Phoenix Snow Park for the heats of the women's halfpipe.

In this event, riders are judged on their tricks down the 160m, U-shaped halfpipe.

In the heats, each competitor gets two runs, with the top six from each reaching the final.

Robin Sones: The wind is a leveller. It's hardly surprising that it's windy on top of a mountain. The defending champion still won - skill in the elements.

CJ: Such a shame that the ladies weren't able to show their true capabilities due to wind conditions! So much respect though for them competing and riding regardless. Glad all are safe!

Maggie: Credit to the riders but that was a disappointing slopestyle final. It's a fantastic course, such a shame that the wind dictated the outcome.

  18. 'Some of the roughest conditions I've ridden in'published at 04:33 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2018

Great Britain's Aimee Fuller on BBC One: "That was a tough day at the office, some of the roughest conditions I've ridden in. I was devastated on my second run. I got the speed right, but when I was in the air it felt like I had a sail boat under my board. There was not a chance I would land. I'm devastated.

"On my first run, I landed the first jump strong and on the second I felt I had it. I'm a strong rider, but I felt a gust that was like riding into a wind tunnel. It was brutal.

"It's the Olympic final and everyone wanted to ride. It's not what I would have expected, or how I visualised four years of preparation would end up. If you were lucky with the wind, there were some calm windows, but it wasn't a true show of women's slopestyle, which is a shame for our sport. We still have big air, so we go hard next week."

  19. Fuller 'absolutely devastated'published at 04:29 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2018

    Nick Hope
    BBC Sport in Pyeongchang

“My insides feel on my outside and I’m absolutely devastated,” GB’s Aimee Fuller tells me after a strong gust sees her crash out of the snowboard slopestyle final. “I’m even more hungry (for the Big Air event) now.”
