It's very difficult to know what emotions they'll feel in this situation. It wasn't about who was best on the day, it was about who could get the best of the conditions.

It wasn't about anyone's best run, it was about who could survive and it's no surprise that two of the three medals were made up of the most experienced riders.

It's been a dramatic women's slopestyle final and the thing I'm most pleased about is no one got seriously hurt.

Batesy: All I wanted to see was some amazing runs from the best athletes in snowboarding but the wind has literally blown that chance away.

Canada's Laurie Blouin took silver and Finland's Enni Rukajarvi the bronze, but no one was in Anderson's league today.

You wonder, though, how much more we'll hear about the conditions that final took place in.

Jamie Anderson has battled back from a horrendous crash in training and I'm not sure she can quite believe this at this stage.

The courage of the women should be saluted.

Jamie Anderson is still draped in a flag, then throws some shadow punches at the camera.

If you missed the run that has brought her a second Olympic gold, watch it again right here...

Anderson wasn't cowed, she didn't hold anything back for the big air, she still went for something special.

When the second jump doesn't land, ending with a slide on the backside, she decides enough is enough and rides into a hug from her boyfriend.

Jamie Anderson is a two-time Olympic champion, already celebrating with the stars and stripes around her neck.

It's frustratingly hard to get excited about a contest where the riders cannot be judged on their ability.

There are serious questions to be asked about the wisdom of running a contest in these windy conditions, when even the best riders in the world cannot, even with their easiest runs, get round.

Anderson gets a hug from her coach, who tells her to do a run that will "make her proud".

She waits, soaking it all in.

Jamie Anderson defends her Olympic crown.

The success is confirmed when Julia Marino fails to complete her second run.

Anderson has gold before her second run begins.

Her first run was immense, but this final will be remembered for the wind and the crashes.

One of the things that really grates me with this now is that Austrians are so keen in their focus on alpine skiing and Anna Gasser was someone who could really have changed perspectives on snowboarding in Austria - but she has been robbed by the conditions here.

    Huge! Denied!

The second of the Austrian's jumps was mass-ive, but Gasser couldn't nail the landing.

Imagine for her, her Olympic dream shattered in Sochi by a fall where she left in tears. She's worked so hard and she was looking so good - it's the cruelest of endings to Spencer O'Brien's Olympic journey here.

Nope. It's too much for O'Brien to make the second jump. A fall four years ago saw her leave Sochi in tears. Now, she's been stopped by the wind. Cruel.

Canada's Spencer O'Brien is next to go...

    Figure skating: Team event

Frankly, we've known since yesterday that this was coming.

Canada have bossed the team figure skating, taking gold by a huge margin from OAR, with USA in third.

The Canadians were top in three of the four disciplines in the second and final stage of the event.
