It is another Olympic title for the Netherlands and Ireen Wust! It was a superb performance from her. She wins again! She was beaten by a blink of an eye in the 3,000m on Saturday but not here.

Miho Takagi finishes with the silver medal. She gave it her best - she gave it absolutely everything but in that final 200m or so it just got away from her.

The Netherlands crowd are going absolutely crazy here. Wust has won so much so many times and it still means that much to her.

A great piece of aggressive skating from Ireen Wust. It will be a very anxious wait for her now given the class of some of the athletes still yet to come. But it's got the Netherlands crowd off their feet.
