Figure Skating: Men's single skating short program

The worst thing you can do at the Winter Olympics is say you like Winnie the Pooh. Japan's Yuzuru Hany may regret mentioning that.

Next thing you know, after you've just given it all in your figure skating routine, you get dozens of them thrown on to the ice.

Just what do you do with them all? One of so many questions to be asked.

Watch the bizarre scenes with our video below.

Another day, another trip to the beautiful cross country course in Alpensia. And it's here that Britain has a real medal chance in Andrew Musgrave.

The 27-year-old was born in Poole, raised in Scotland and now lives in Norway - where cross country is the national sport.

He's already made history at the Games with a brilliant seventh-place finish in the 30km skiathlon - the best result by a Briton in an Olympic cross country event.

"Hopefully I'll be in the fight for the victory in the 15km. It's a completely different race when it's the individual start and I tend to do a little bit better at that," he said.

My hands are shaking, my whole body is shaking. That was absolutely glorious and faultless.

Nobody really knew what shape he was in except for himself. He knew what he was capable of.

Every single detail was on the money with every note of the music. He is an ethereal being on the ice.

Two very contrasting paces of sport for you across the BBC at the moment. The peaceful beauty of the figure skating on BBC One or the fast, frantic and action-packed ice hockey on BBC Red Button. The choice is yours.

There are lots of Swedish fans here and they have been rewarded. Frida Hansdotter has so often been runner up to Mikaela Shiffrin at World Cup races but she finally gets her moment in the spotlight.

She can't believe it, but Sweden's Frida Hansdotter is the gold medallist.

Wendy Holdener of Switzerland was the fastest in the first run, and was last to go but can only take the silver, finishing five hundredths of a second behind the Swede.

Katharina Gallhuber of Austria takes bronze, with American Mikaela Shiffrin, who reportedly was sick before her first run, has to settle for fourth. Shiffrin won gold in the giant slalom yesterday.

The racers are having to ignore the wind, and not let it distract them from the task at hand.

The course is deteriorating and there's a rut under foot.

The wind is forcing a course hold at the top. We have to hope this wind dies down.

  18. Where are the big names in ice hockey?published at 04:47 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2018

Ice hockey: Men's preliminary round: United States 1-1 Slovakia

Over in the ice hockey, it is currently 1-1 in the match between the United States and Slovakia in the second period.

However, it is very much a weakened USA team as the National Hockey League, the top men's league in the world, has refused to allow its players to compete in the Winter Olympics. That's somewhere between 150-180 players stopped from competing on the world's biggest stage, although the United States are hardest hit.

The time difference between Korea and North America means many of the games are being played in the middle of the night for US audiences and the NHL felt it was not right to put their league on hold for three weeks and allow its players to go to Pyeongchang.

"I hate politics in general and it's become part of sports obviously," US assistant coach Chris Chelios told BBC Sport in Pyeongchang. "But what an opportunity for these guys. I'm just as happy. Now this is their time to shine and they'll never forget this."

Have a look at our feature video below to find out how a lack of NHL players will affect the USA team.
