Team GB have released a statement on Elise Christie's condition, after her crash in the 1500m semi final.

"She has had an X-ray on her right ankle which has shown that there are no broken bones. Team GB medical staff will continue to assess her over the coming days.

"She wants to thank everyone for their support and the hospital staff who assessed her so quickly."

So no confirmation if she will be able to race in the 1000m on Thursday.

More Lizzy Yarnold facts: she's nicknamed She-Ra - after the cartoon character - by other members of the GB skeleton squad.

Her hobbies include knitting and making lampshades. She's also a big fan of number crunching, with a Open University qualification in in book-keeping and accounting.

I mean, I've definitely just found my favourite Lizzy Yarnold fact.

"Yarnold often listens to grime music to motivate her before her races. She revealed she had listened to Dizzee Rascal moments before her first Olympic triumph in 2014, and is a big fan of the grime star Wiley."

    Skeleton: Women's final

    Alex Coomber
Olympic bronze medalist skeleton racer on BBC TV

Laura Deas has been so consistent on this track. Six runs is nothing in preparation for an Olympic final but she is very good at understanding the principles of driving a sled.

She has actually nailed some of the really difficult parts of this track which a lot of the ladies didn't do.

She was really good! It's great for her.

Lizzy Yarnold doesn't know what to do with herself.

She raises her arms and jumps up and down as she steps up onto that podium. She's made history for GB in defending her Winter Olympic title.

Clare Balding on BBC TV: "Great champions are consistent, they work hard, they are competitive. But the greatest pull out the big runs in the moments when they are needed the most and that is what Lizzy Yarnold has just done. She is a double Olympic champion."
