1.4 points was the fine margin that saw James Woods miss out on an Olympic medal.

The Brit fell on the final jump of his first run, but moved up into second after an impressive second run.

However, a missed rail at the top of the course saw him leapfrogged by eventual silver medallist Nick Goepper.

Here's what happened while you were sleeping.

    • Marcel Hirscher claimed his second gold in Pyeongchang - and kept himself on course for a hat-trick of medals - with a win in the giant slaolm
    • A superb opening run from Norway's Oystein Braaten saw him claim men's slopestyle gold
    • Britain's James Woods narrowly missed out on a slopestyle medal as he finishes fourth, 1.4 points behind bronze medallist Alex Beaulieu-Marchand

Genuinely valiant effort from Stephan, there. Morning folks.

GB's curlers have just whacked a yellow Sweden stone out of the house. They're about halfway through the eighth end.

It's fair to say there's been a momentum shift in GB's direction, even though they are still one down.

They still have work to do but they won't be too disappointed with the position they're in.

As we thought, GB choose to take a scoreless end and keep the hammer for the eighth installment. If all goes to plan, they should have the last stone in the 10th and final end.

Meanwhile, what are the special shoes that they wear? How do they slide so serenely on the ice? Where can I get some from?

At worst, GB can blank this end to keep the hammer. At best, they could pick up two stones to move ahead.

GB might be in trouble here, even with the hammer. Sweden have managed to place three yellow bricks in three different parts of the house. Trouble? Anna Sloan thumbs her nose at trouble. Two Swedish stones removed with one laser-guided British boulder.

GB have brought in a sport psychologist over the last few years and Eve has benefitted.

Out on the ice, you tend to wear your heart on your sleeve, but it's about how you control and manage that emotion and aggression.

I see a more professional side of her now. She's changed her attitude and she's going to keep digging hard today.

Vicki Adams, gold necklace hanging down, slides a red brick into the Swedish yellow at the front of the house, clearing the decks. At this early stage in the end, I wonder if GB might think of blanking this end in order to get the hammer in the even-numbered chapters.

Malcolm McLeod: Each team has a 'light' and 'dark' kit. They wear light when playing with yellow and dark with red. I don't know if they plan on bringing out 3rd kits to cash in on the replicas!

Sweden might have taken the lead with one point in the sixth end, but Great Britain won't might that too much. One point from your hammer is a bit of a measly return. Can GB make their advantage pay in the seventh?

What a shot from Eve Muirhead. It looked good all the way down there.

Sweden are doing much better than GB on draws, but the stats don't matter if this ends in GB's favour!

Trick shot from Eve Muirhead, which almost causes her to smile. Two Swedish stones pushed from the ice, one planted in between the British bricks. Sweden, even with the hammer, are under the pump here.

Not that I'm against it. The red is stronger than the previous white-grey combo.

“What can you do!?” says GB’s a dejected James Woods as long-term coach and friend Pat Sharples comes in for a hug.

“He was a true champion today,” Sharples tells me. “We saw some of the best skiing ever in competition today - truly world class and Woodsy showed what we all know - that he is just brilliant at what he does.”
