  1. Who to watchpublished at 10:21 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2018

    Men's two-man bobsleigh (from 11:15 GMT)

The now-retired Alexandr Zubkov piloted Russia’s top sled to success in the two and four-man disciplines in Sochi, but last year he and his team-mates were disqualified and banned for life by the IOC after allegations of state-sponsored doping. Russia’s second team, driven by Alexander Kasjanov, was also banned and disqualified (he ended fourth in the two-man and four-man events).

After the damaging 2014 postscript, bobsleigh will be desperate for better publicity – and the good news is the two-man contest promises to be a close one; this season’s eight races have produced six different winners from four different countries. The two pilots to have claimed multiple wins are both Germans: Francesco Friedrich (mainly with brakeman Thorsten Margis) and Nico Walther (with Christian Poser).

Somchai the dog: Is Katie Summerhayes the most British name at the Olympics?

Phil: Can't get enough of the winter Olympics! Loving the BBC Sport coverage. Obsessed with the curling and speed skating!

  6. 'There is a lot of attention'published at 10:08 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2018

    Bobsleigh: Jamaica women

    John Jackson
Two-time Olympic bobsledder on BBC TV

They had a falling out with their staff. It ended up with the coach deciding she couldn't work in that environment.

I heard Jazmine Fenlator-Victorian say "I really need to focus on the track." They haven't got a coach but I don't know if they have been working with another nation for a bit of assistance.

She slid for the US previously and has had some results. She's not a brand new pilot to the circuit.

There is a lot of attention and hopefully things can settle down now and they can do well in the race. It's what they deserve.

Mica McNeill and Mica Moore are unlikely to threaten the podium – but even reaching Pyeongchang is a formidable achievement given the obstacles they have faced in the last five months. In September, British Bobsleigh withdrew funding for McNeill and Moore but continued to support three men’s teams; McNeill was told there was no money left to fund her because of “an overspend”.

The decision triggered a backlash – both in terms of the negative message it sent about gender equality, and about the potential of McNeill and Moore, who had demonstrated their talent by becoming world junior champions in 2017.

The controversy eventually led to chief executive Richard Parker resigning (ostensibly to free up more funds). The British girls used the publicity to their advantage, launching a crowdfunding campaign which hit their £30,000 target in just six days. That enabled them to compete on the World Cup circuit, essential in order to qualify for Pyeongchang. They finished a creditable 12th in the overall World Cup rankings, ending in the top 10.

    Women's bobsleigh

    John Jackson
Two-time Olympic bobsledder on BBC TV

What a story it would be if they got the top five result British bobsleigh need to receive the funding they need.

For Mica McNeill and Mica Moore to get through this and potentially look at a top eight result is just fantastic.

  9. 'Bradley will set some records'published at 10:01 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2018

    Bobsleigh: Two-man

    Nicola Minichiello
Three-time Olympic bobsledder on BBC TV

This track is really throwing out the form book. Bradley Hall just nailed his second run. It's about how much velocity you can take through those first corners.

The more experience you have on this track, the better you will be. With every run, Bradley is getting more and more consistent.

He's building more speed. He is a really talented pilot. This Olympics was always an opportunity.

He is really going to set some records here I think.

  10. Christie latestpublished at 09:58 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2018

Team GB say Elise Christie has made “good progress” following her injury at the Winter Olympics on Saturday night. The short track speed skater from Livingston was taken to hospital after crashing out of the 1500 metres semi final at Pyeongchang 2018.

She suffered soft tissue damage and had her right foot placed in a protective boot. She’s due to compete in the 1000m heat tomorrow. Team GB say she was back on the ice today, adding: “staff will continue to assess, support and monitor her overnight and tomorrow before a final decision is taken”.

  11. 'They are in a real battle'published at 09:56 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2018

    Bobsleigh: Two-man

    John Jackson
Two-time Olympic bobsledder on BBC TV

They [Britain's Bradley Hall and Joel Fearon] are in a real battle. Any twitch and they can move forward two sleds or move back two sleds. I just want to see Bradley Hall enjoying it and driving well.

He had a big crash last season and sliced the back of his hand. It tore through his tendons and he couldn't push properly for quite a while. It's good to see him back and pushing towards the front.

The four-man equipment is world class. The British two-man equipment isn't the best but he's [Bradley] making it work.

If he can do it in the two-man, then he can certainly do it in the four-man...

  16. A family affairpublished at 09:38 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2018

The Lillis family, (a.k.a "Team Lillis"), had dreamed of one day watching all three brothers, Jonathon, 23, Chris, 19, and Mikey, 17, compete in the Olympic aerials competition.

However, in October 2017 their dream was shattered as youngest brother Mikey died suddenly in his sleep. His death is still unexplained.

Eldest brother and world champion Jon may have missed out on a medal but he showed undeniable strength during the final on Sunday in Pyeongchang.

In a poignant gesture, he had Mikey's old Team USA ski suit shipped out to South Korea so he could wear it as a tribute to his little brother.

The family have also had some of Mikey's ashes encased in a glass pendant which Jon wore during the opening ceremony.

Curling: GB women v Switzerland (11:05 GMT)

    Rhona Howie
Olympic gold medalist curler on BBC TV

In their last game against Sweden it was an unfortunate ending but Great Britain could have lost that anyway.

The British just need to go on and prove they are the better team. They have been playing consistently well.

I firmly believe they will beat Switzerland. It's all still to play for but the good thing is it's in Britain's hands.

They know what they need to do. They don't need to think about anybody else. They just need to win. It's simple.
