  1. 'It could have been better'published at 10:56 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

    BBC Radio 5 live

More from Mike Hay: "It has been a great Games. We got off to a slow start but then we had that Super Saturday and we got three medals in one day.

"It could have been better but unfortunately for Elise [Christie] it wasn't her Games in the speed skating.

"There was a lot of hope on the shoulders of Elise and Eve Muirhead's curling team and sadly it wasn't to be.

"They [the curling team] will be very disappointed but I'm proud of the way they played and they are great ambassadors for us. They are young and they will be back again I'm sure.

  2. So close to more medalspublished at 10:55 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

Despite the five-medal target being reached, that figure was so nearly higher.

Elise Christie came fourth in the 500m in the short-track speed skating, the same position Great Britain's women's team finished in the curling and James Woods obtained in the freestyle skiing ski slopestyle.

  3. 'Most successful British team'published at 10:53 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

    BBC Radio 5 live

Team GB chef de mission Mike Hay speaking to BBC Radio 5 live: "We have managed to make the five medals. There have been one or two disappointments but there have also been some great results for us.

"We come away from the Games as the most successful British team ever so overall it's very positive.

"You have to look at Lizzy Yarnold getting back-to-back golds and she is probably the greatest Winter Olympian we have ever had. That was probably the highlight of the Games for us."

  4. Mission accomplishedpublished at 10:53 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

The pre-Games target was five medals for Great Britain, more than they had ever won at a single previous Games.

One gold and four bronze medals later. Mission accomplished.

  5. 'Worried he gets the right stadium'published at 10:49 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

Team GB chef de mission Mike Hay said: "I don't think it was something he [Billy Morgan] expected, or really knew about the protocol, but he's delighted [to carry the flag].

"I'm slightly worried that he gets the right stadium and carries the flag the right way, but I had a good chat with him and he is very humbled and taking it very seriously.

"It was never an easy choice but I spoke to Billy this morning and he was delighted. His reaction was great.

"He seemed a bit nervous which seems unbelievable. But he is looking forward to it though."

  6. 'It's an honour'published at 10:47 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

Billy Morgan on being named Team GB flag bearer: "I'm pretty nervous already thinking about carrying the flag but I'm sure it's going to be amazing.

"I'll say to the athletes that it's an honour to be the flagbearer and I hope everyone is stoked because it's been a great experience out here.

"I never expected to win a medal before the contest and I keep forgetting I did it so it's nice to relive it now and then, which is pretty cool.

"It's been a crazy Games for Team GB, our best ever, so I hope everyone can go home happy. It's been amazing for me and I'm just over the moon"

Billy Morgan to carry the British flag at the Closing Ceremony

Billy Morgan's crazy Winter Olympics got even crazier earlier today when it was announced that he would be carrying the British flag at the Winter Olympics closing ceremony.

Speaking to BBC Sport, he said: "It's been pretty crazy. I still can't take it all in. It's nuts! I turned up just happy to be in the finals. I never thought I'd get here. I can't believe it - it's just crazy!

"It's the icing on the cake. Everyone has been working hard over the last four years. It's been madness. I have been doing interviews none stop and my phone has been blowing up. I can't believe I'm the flagbearer. I'm well proud!

"I'm a snowboarder I barely use my arms. People have been saying there's an art to it. I guess I'll just freestyle it."

What a fortnight it has been. Congrats to all the athletes - both those who were able to find their very best under the ultimate pressure and those who showed us their heartbreak of disappointment.

  11. 'It is a really stressful thing'published at 10:40 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

Opening ceremony flagbearer and double Olympic champion Lizzy Yarnold speaking to BBC: "We [her and bronze medallist Laura Deas] started the sport at exactly the same time. It is a really stressful thing to go to the Olympics.

"To be able to share it with someone else does keep me going. We supported each other. It was really nice to know that Laura was just behind me or just in front of me throughout the race.

"We are very much a team. When you wear the crest of Team GB, it's not like any one person is leading the team - it's everyone doing their best."

  12. Moments of the Games: Gold and bronze for GB in skeletonpublished at 10:38 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

    Skeleton: Women's event

This Olympics has been an absolute roller coaster - from the heartbreak of disappointment, to the giddiness of ultimate success.

The bronze medals won by Billy Morgan and Izzy Atkin and Dom Parsons were incredible but my moment of the Games was seeing Lizzy Yarnold and Laura Deas sharing that podium together.

Not so much the medals that were around their necks but the friendship that they had shared this roller coaster ride together and attributed so much of that success to the bond they have. Congrats to Team GB for everyone who has worked so hard.

  18. Norway top the medal tablepublished at 08:28 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

And that is the end of the competition at the Winter Olympics.

We had 103 gold medals won, and we even had a bonus one as Canada and Germany produced a dead heat in the men's two-man bobsleigh so they both got gold.

No country has ever won more medals at a single Winter Olympics then Norway's 39, and Marit Bjorgen's gold in the cross-county skiing ladies' 30km mass start, the last event of the Games, saw them finish top of the medal table.

For Great Britain, it was also a record with five medals being their best ever return.
