Men's curling bronze medal: Switzerland 4-2 Canada

Eep. Canada clear the Swiss guard and think they can knock two Swiss reds out of the centre, but it just misses! Canada have the hammer in this end.

    Figure skating

    Break a world record.

    Win gold.

Become the youngest women's figure skating champion since 1998.

Not a bad day for Alina Zagitova and the Olympic athletes from Russia, as she won their first gold of these Games in the women's single figure skating.

However, for Marielle Thompson, things weren't quite as good.

Her title defence was over after just 100m. Ouch.

Serwa was a silver medallist in Sochi four years ago, but went one better this time around.

"It's been a long four years for me in between. Definitely a lot of ups and downs - I had to take some time off, went back to school, had another surgery," she said.

"It is very surreal to be the best in the world at something you put your heart into.

"I have an amazing support team around me who, from my head to my body, made sure everything was good. Our skis were rockets today."

    Freestyle Skiing: Women's ski cross

There was a Canadian one-two on the slopes as Kelsey Serwa and Brittany Phelan claimed gold and silver respectively.

Defending champ Marielle Thompson crashed out in the day's first heat, and it was Serwa who took up the mantle.

She nipped into the lead in the second half of the race to claim victory, and continue Canada's dominance in the event.

It's good news if you're a curling fan.

Britain's curlers are on the medal hunt from 11:05 GMT, when they play Sweden - who beat them 8-6 in the round-robin stages - in the women's semi-final.

The men's 1,000m speed skating final kicks off from 10:00, with the Dutch looking to add to their total of 17 medals so far in Pyeongchang.

And just for good measure, there's the men's biathlon - the 4x7.5km relay starts at 11:15 - and men's ice hockey semi-finals at 7:40 and 12:10.

Good morning! Has your alarm just gone off? Blearily making your way into work?

Well, it's Friday, it's sunny - it is where I am, anyway... - and there's an absolute ton of curling on the telly today.

Here's what's coming up on day 14 of the Winter Olympic...

Switzerland's women had a very dominant period where I think they won four out of five World Championship titles.

The men's game has been in the shadows but they've got some good teams coming through.

The Swiss programme is one of the leading programmes in the world. There is no selection involved, they let the teams prove themselves to play at the big tournaments.

Some strong sweeping, and the final Swiss stone creeps past the guard and into the ring.

    Two points sewn up.

Swiss slide their penultimate stone past the Canadian's guard, but there's a bit of a spin on it, and it drifts longer than they wanted.

Two red stones in the house as Kevin Koe steadies himself for his final shot. He takes a big ol' swing as he comes gliding up to the line, but he can only knock one of those reds out!

Chance for Switzerland to draw two here.

Midway through the fifth end, and there's a cluster of Swiss red stones in the centre of the house, surrounding a lonely yellow stone.

The Canadians want to clear up some room, and have a long conflab about how best to do the take out.

Skip Kevin Koe takes aim, lines up the stone - and nails it! Three red Swiss stones go fizzing out of the way.

We came into this race wanting to enjoy every moment and showed on day one we could challenge for medals. Can not believe it is over. Roll on the next four years."

Men's bronze medal: Switzerland 2-2 Canada

Finally Canada have something to cheer about! They had to come up with something because that was beginning to look like another steal for Switzerland. There's dancing all around!

  19. Postpublished at 07:37 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2018

Men's curling bronze medal: Switzerland 2-2 Canada (after end four)

Surely time for Canada to get on the board now? They rescue the situation after Switzerland threaten another steal, leaving Kevin Koe eyeing up a Hollywood shot for three with his final stone.

Koe eases one down the left flank, hitting his guard head on and sending that into the house. He clunks one Canada stone into touch, but just runs past a second.

Two will have to do. Koe's Krew will be more than happy with that after a dodgy start.

It's semi-final time today in the men's ice hockey.

The first semi-final gets under way in 10 minutes and sees Olympic athletes from Russia face Czech Republic.

OAR have looked strong so far, unbeaten since defeat in the opening game of the tournament, and are the top scorers so far with 20 goals in four games.

But Czech Republic, winners in 1998, have already beaten defending champions Canada so will not be intimidated.

You'll be able to watch it in this page above or on the Red Button.
