...although that's nowhere near as bizarre as Mr T being a self-confessed nut. Pity the fool who tells the A Team legend that they think curling is a load of rubbish...

You know curling has captured the imagination of the country when the hip grilled cheese joint over the road from your flat in Manchester's cool Northern Quarter is replying to a BBC Sport tweet about Eve Muirhead. Honestly!

Here's why Britain has gone curling mad...

Switzerland 0-2 Great Britain (after end one)

Swiss skip Benoit Schwarz shakes his head as he trudges down the sheet after his final stone. He knows...

Kyle Smith has a golden chance to nab the two... easy peasy. Smith guides his final stone straight into the centre of the house. A cracking start for the Brits!

    Switzerland 0-0 Great Britain

Britain have the hammer in this opening end which, if you don't know, means they throw the final stone of the end. Basically, that gives them the advantage.

Switzerland biff their penultimate stone out of the house, via the edge of another of their red stones, meaning the Brits have a decent chance of getting two points on the opening end...

'Come out sharp'published at 00:13 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2018

    Switzerland 0-0 Great Britain

    Jackie Lockhart
Four-time Olympic curler on BBC TV

Great Britain have to come out sharp this morning. They have to be clinical and they have to play their simple shots well. If they manage to do that, you can't ask for any more really.

    Switzerland 0-0 Great Britain

How have we ended up here then? Basically because Britain blew their chance to go through to the semi-finals automatically.

The British rink suffered a 10-4 defeat by the United States earlier yesterday, meaning they finished level on points with the Swiss at the end of the round-robin stage and thus needing this play-off match to separate them...

    'A great opportunity'published at 00:09 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2018

    Switzerland 0-0 Great Britain

    Steve Cram
    Curling commentator on BBC TV

What an opportunity this is, as well as being a situation Great Britain wouldn't want to be in after they had the opportunity to progress yesterday.

Both teams finished with disappointment in the round robin competitions, now Sweden await the winners.

    Switzerland 0-0 Great Britain

British skip Kyle Smith and his motley crew are looking relaxed as they wait to get this play-off under way.

Smiles everywhere. Maybe someone has just cracked a gag about playing in front of bigger crowds in rural Scotland. Barely a man and his dog in the arena.

Switzerland to kick off the opening end...

Obviously you are going to want to read what's going on in Pyeongchang right here, don't you? (In slightly passive aggressive tone.)

But don't forget you can also watch all the curling action on BBC One. And right here on this very page.

Just keep the volume down if your partner is trying to get some shut-eye next to you in bed...

Hello! Plenty of water and the odd strong coffee - that'll see you through whatever you've got to do tomorrow. Because you really don't want to drift off now.

Why? Because Britain's male curlers are in play-off action...
