Yesterday the Ice Cube was lit up orange. It looked like a particularly neat portion of beans on toast.

Men's curling round-robin: Great Britain v Norway

The Ice Cube is lit up and ready for GB v Norway in the men’s curling.
We have had a lot of pictures of this venue but it is still impressive every time you see it. That bubble wrap just needs popping!
*This is your five-minute warning*
The curling is not far away.
So grab a cuppa, rustle up a sandwich and make sure you set your laptop status to 'Busy: In a meeting' for the next hour or so...
Short track speed skating women's 1,000m
Whatever happens in the rest of the event, Dutch skater Suzanne Schulting will go home with an incredible achievement which will rank among her career highlights... breaking the world record in the women's short track 1,000m.
Schulting, 24, is one of the favourites to win gold but even she looked completely stunned by breaking the previous best time.
Watch below how she did it...

This is who the locals are here to see: Wu Dajing.
The 27-year-old is one of the home nation's poster boys, having won gold in this event four years ago and then carrying the Chinese flag at the closing ceremony in Pyeongchang.
Very solid start for Wu, winning his heat and easing through to the quarter-finals.
That was the final of the eight heats and all the favourites are safely through to the next phase.

We're seeing more and more false starts because the start is so important in the 500m.
If you are caught sleeping at the start, then the race is over.

Another false start in the men's 500m. More aborted attempts than my planned evening runs after an early Winter Olympics shift.
Heat seven does get going, bringing ear-piercing screams as China's Long Sun battles for a top-two finish. He misses out but his time should be enough to advance.
Not long to go, David. Sounds like you're on tentacle-hooks.
We're about half an hour away from the curling. It's Great Britain's men against Norway from 12:05 GMT.
You won't miss a stone.

David the Octopus: Is it a sign of old age creeping up fast when you get completely gripped by the curling ? Asking for a slightly older friend obvs.

In the men's 500m, the two best athletes in each heat qualify automatically for the quarter-finals. They will be joined by the four fastest third-placed athletes.
No major shocks yet. In heat five, Russian skater Konstantin Ivliev wins in 40.272 seconds. That's the fastest time so far.

There are a couple of watering cans perched on the ice. Every so often a little dribble is poured on the track.
In so many ways, a sophisticated sport. Yet also reminiscent of how we used to create our own ice slides on the playground in the 1990s. Simpler times.

No time for breath in the short track speed skating. Reminds me of the track cycling in the Summer Olympics.
Fast, frantic and ferocious. Potential for a wince-inducing crash.
Next up? The men's 500m heats...

And that means the semi-finals will look like this...

Another 'coming together' in the final quarter-final needs close scrutiny from British chief referee Peter Worth.
"It's six of one, half a dozen of the other," says BBC analyst Wilf O'Reilly.
That's the clarity us laymen need. All good again. American Kristen Santos is through automatically, alongside Korea's Choi Min-jeong.

We do have a British presence actually - chief referee Peter Worth. Not to be confused with Peter Werth. Peter Worth is dressed smartly, though.
Anyway... the British official has some sorting out to do after the third quarter-final. He's looking at some infringement. In the end he decides all is good and the result stands.
Italy's Arianna Fontana wins the third quarter-final, with Belgium's Hanne Desmet taking second place.

She made it look so easy - a new world record. She came to the front, let her team-mate come past her and then retook the lead and then after that it was home running for Suzanne Schulting.

Dutch skater Suzanne Schulting is the world and European champion - here's why. The 24-year-old whips round the track to win her heat - in a WORLD RECORD time!
She clocks one minute 26.514 seconds to cruise into the semi-finals.

Let's stay on the ice, but head over to Capital Indoor Stadium. That's where the short track speed skating is taking place.
The women's 1,000m event is under way, with the quarter-finals taking place. Top two through automatically.
No Brits in this event after Kathryn Thomson was unable to get through the heats.

This is an incredible bit of skill from the 17-year-old Juraj Slafkovsky.
It's too little, too late for Slovakia but that was a laser-beam of a shot.
Men's ice hockey: Sweden 4-1 Slovakia
Teenage kicks right on the ice. We have seen a star being born at these Games in Slovakia's 17-year-old Juraj Slafkovsky.
While his side were suffocated by Sweden, it does not stop him producing another moment of magic.
A sharp swivel is followed by a thumping finish which even leaves Swedish keeper Magnus Hellberg with a look of admiration.
That's virtually the last hit of the puck as Sweden don't get their clean sheet but, more importantly, do take the W.
