Kamila Valieva is awarded 82.16 by the judges. That gives her a huge lead at the top of the standings.

It wasn't her best, not surprising given all of the controversy, but it puts her in gold medal position for now at least.

Who knows what will happen next.

Valieva became the first female skater to land a quadruple jump at an Olympics when her team won last Monday.

She is seen as the best of a star-studded Russian Olympic Committee squad.

The 15-year-old has gone unbeaten in her first senior season and has broken a number of world records.

She finished a record 35 points clear at the Russian Nationals and set a new short programme record at the European Championships.

Last week it was announced she had tested positive for a banned substance in December.

Valieva just warmed up with the rest of the six skaters in the group. I could not see any sign of her being rattled by the past few days, she landed her jumps confidently.

  17. Why is Valieva allowed to compete despite failed drugs test?published at 13:40 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2022

When the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (Rusada) received word on 8 February that Valieva had failed a drugs test, it provisionally suspended her in line with Wada rules.

Valieva appealed against the decision - on what grounds, it is so far unclear - and Rusada agreed to lift the suspension the following day.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC), World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) and the International Skating Union (ISU) then launched an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) to get the provisional ban re-imposed.

The Cas hearing was only ever about the provisional ban - it was not considering the positive test or the circumstances around it.

It decided that because of Valieva's age and the "untimely notification of the results" of the failed test - in the middle of the Games and nearly six weeks after she gave the sample - that it would do her "irreparable harm" if she were not allowed to compete.

But the issue of the failed drugs test will still need to be resolved and no time frame has been given for this.

Under Wada rules, if an athlete's A sample is positive, then they may request that the B sample is tested. It is not yet known whether Valieva has asked for this.

Monaco have never won a Winter or Summer Olympic medal but Rudy Rinaldi is just 0.21 seconds off bronze in the two-man bobsleigh.

Can he do it in the fourth and final run at the Yanqing National Sliding Centre?

The European principality has a proud tradition of bobsleigh racing with Prince Albert himself competing in five Winter Olympics from 1988-2002.

Monaco's highest finish was 12th in 2006 and Rinaldi looks set to smash this but can he get his hands on a historic medal into the bargain?

It's close. That end was fascinating as Swedish third Oskar Eriksson managed a brilliant promotion shot to get two Swedish stones in the mix.

But skip Niklas Edin can't quite finish the job and knock a GB stone out for two. 4-2 at the halfway mark.

It's now around 20 minutes until we'll see Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva back on the ice rink.

The story of her failed drugs test has overshadowed the whole Games.

Shortly after helping the Russian Olympic Committee to gold in the team event it became clear the 15-year-old, the big favourite in this individual competition, had failed a drugs test in December.

Despite this, sport's highest court CAS ruled "exceptional circumstances" meant Valieva could compete.

All eyes are now on her as she competes for the first time since the story broke.
