An update from the figure skating for you...

Georgia's Anastasiia Gubanova is leading the way now with a score of 65.40. American Mariah Bell is just a smidge back on 65.38 in second.

As it stands Great Britain's Natasha McKay is down in 15th after 17 skaters.

There are 30 in total. Kamila Valieva goes at 13:52 GMT.

  2. 'Relying on making really good runs'published at 12:29 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2022

    Two-man Bobsleigh

    Nicola Minichiello
Three-time Olympic bobsledder on BBC TV

It's really bunched up, we've got four tenths of a second, this track is technical and you will lose speed especially if you make mistakes at the top section of the track.

Brad Hall is now relying on making really good runs, almost perfect runs. He made some mistakes yesterday, he needs to clean those up and he's relying on others making mistakes.

  3. Can GB challenge for bobsleigh bronze?published at 12:26 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2022

    Two-man bobsleigh

    Anna Thompson
    BBC Sport in Beijing

It pretty much looks as though it will be a German 1-2 in the two-man bobsleigh but there is less than four tenths of a second between third and Britain's Brad Hall in 11th.

So a medal is not completely out of the question for Team GB - which would be a first at these Olympics - but it has to be a big third run for the British crew.

Run three is under way with the sleds going in ranking order. The final run will be in reverse order from the 20 sleds that qualify.

    Men's curling - Sweden 0-1 Great Britain

    Thomas Duncan
    BBC Scotland in Beijing

GB lying one and Swedish skip Niklas Edin can't dislodge Bruce Mouat's red stone and it's a steal of one.

A very solid start for GB.

    Men's aerials qualifying

We have our six finalists from the second round of qualifying, with Oleksandr Okipniuk of the Ukraine topping the scoresheets.

They join the six qualifiers from the first run for tomorrow's finals.

Team GB's Lloyd Wallace finishes in 15th place.

Men's curling - Sweden 0-0 Great Britain (first end)

    Thomas Duncan
    BBC Scotland in Beijing

As I mentioned earlier, this match could determine who finishes top of the table.

If GB win this, and their two other remaining matches, they would go above Sweden on head-to-head if they had a tied record.

Why does it matter? Well, because you start with the hammer in the last end in both the semi-final and final (if you get there).

Statistically you win nearly 7/10 times with that advantage. So boy does it matter.

Figure skating - women’s short programme

There are still two more groups to skate before Kamila Valieva is due on the ice.

But, despite the Russians having to compete here under a Russian Olympic Committee flag, I’ve spotted a white-blue-red flag being held in the stands.

Valieva is one of three Russians competing - all are in the final group, and all are tipped for the podium.

Not that there will be a podium if that does happen - the IOC has said there will be no medal ceremony if Valieva wins a medal as they want to know the final outcome of the anti-doping case first.

  8. Wallace eliminatedpublished at 12:06 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2022

    Men's aerials qualifying

Head in hands time for Team GB's Lloyd Wallace!

He needed something special to move into the top six but stumbled on landing and can only score 71.94 on his second run.

A valiant effort, but Wallace cannot now make it through to the final.

I think our guys have to go out here now and stamp their mark, it's what they're here for because they're a very very strong team.

I don't want them to be disappointed if it doesn't go their way but I think they can take this to then end and pull off a win. Sweden have already qualified so will they take their foot off the accelerator pedal? Let's see.

  10. Edin the GOAT?published at 11:59 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2022

    Curling - Sweden v Great Britain (06:05)

    Thomas Duncan
    BBC Scotland in Beijing

In curling circles, Swedish skip Niklas Edin is considered one of the greatest of all time.

He's won five world titles, seven European titles, plus an Olympic bronze and silver in his career.

However, a shiny gold has eluded him so far, and the shock 2018 final loss to the USA stung badly. He is desperate to win here in Beijing and lay the Olympic hoodoo to rest.

  11. Burov out of men's aerialspublished at 11:56 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2022

    Men's aerials qualifying

We already have our first surprise in the second qualifying run of the men's aerials.

Double world champion and current world number one Maxim Burov can only score 113.28 on his second run, which is not good enough for a top six finish and means the Russian Olympic Committee skier is eliminated.

  12. What's still to come?published at 11:54 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2022

    • Great Britain's men are about to start their top-of-the-table match against unbeaten Sweden in the curling.

    Men's curling - Sweden v Great Britain (12:05)

    Thomas Duncan
    BBC Scotland in Beijing

The GB boys are in the house (pardon the curling pun)! This is a mouth-watering clash between two of the very best sides around.

World champions Sweden have won seven from seven so far, while Bruce Mouat and co have emerged victorious from five of their six matches.

Niklas Edin's Swedish side got the better of the Scottish boys in the world final last year, but they got sweet revenge in the final of the European Champs in December.

If all that wasn't enough, a GB win could see them finish top of the round-robin standings.

  15. GB's Wallace needs good second roundpublished at 11:42 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2022

    Men's aerials qualifying

    Anna Thompson
    BBC Sport in Beijing

British aerial skier Lloyd Wallace will have to go through the second qualifying round if he is to make the final. He scores a decent 108.41 but he's about 11 points shy of the top six who automatically qualify from the first round.

Six more will qualify from the second round but points are carried through so he has some ground to make up.

Home favourites China's Qi Guangpu and Jia Zongyang have nailed their first runs and are guaranteed their places in the final.

Wallace is down in 17th place after round one.

    Freestyle skiing men's aerials qualification

Over in the men's aerials qualification there were big celebrations when Great Britain's Lloyd Wallace landed a Back Full-Double Full-Full - otherwise known as a tough trick to simpletons like me.

The judges were tough on Wallace, however. They got out their finest tooth comb and scored him a 108.41.

He ends qualification run one down in 17th. The top six go straight through to the final with the rest returning for qualy run two from 11:45 GMT.

There are another six spaces in the final up for grabs.

  17. GB curlers stay in semi-final huntpublished at 11:38 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2022

Women's curling: Great Britain beat Japan

    Thomas Duncan
    BBC Scotland in Beijing

Miss Great Britain's crucial curling win earlier? Fear not. Here's what my colleague Thomas Duncan made of it...

A dominant 10-4 win against Japan gave Great Britain's women's curlers a chance of reaching the play-offs at the Winter Olympics.

Eve Muirhead, Vicky Wright, Jen Dodds and Hailey Duff took a 6-1 lead after just three ends and sealed victory with two to spare.

It moves them into the top four and in the mix for the semi-finals.

Victories against China and the Russian Olympic Committee in their final two matches should see them through.

Both of those teams are already out of contention for the play-offs, and Muirhead's side face the Chinese first at 01:05 GMT on Wednesday and will aim to improve on their record of four wins and three losses.
