"Finland is the seventh country* to win Olympic gold in ice hockey following Canada, Great Britain, Soviet Union/Russia, United States, Sweden and the Czech Republic.

"The Finns are the first new winners since the Czechs won gold at Nagano 1998." *Considering Soviet Union, Unified Team and Olympic Athletes from Russia as the same team.

"It's a moment I am never going to forget," said Eve Muirhead. I don't think many will back here either.

Just in case you missed it though, this was how Great Britain ended a 20-year quest to regain women's curling gold.

And that, sadly, is that as far as the sporting action is concerned at Beijing 2022.

Norway top the medal table with a record 16 gold medals, winning 37 medals in total.

Then come Germany and host nation China.

Great Britain, meanwhile, finish up with two medals.

The final gold of the Games goes to Finland.

And then the dream became reality.

It was something from nothing. What a start to the third period from the Finns.

They now lead the Olympic final by two goals to one.

Now, the attention shifts to what the ROC do here. They are the defending champions, they need to find some offence from somewhere.

Finland have turned things around!

It's taken them less than one minute in the third and final period to go 2-1 up against the Russian Olympic Committee, Hannes Bjorninen doing the business.

Plenty of time for the defending champions to rescue themselves yet though.

Great Britain have won gold at each of the last four Winter Olympics with the 2022 women's curling team following Amy Williams (2010) and Lizzy Yarnold (2014, 2018) who both won gold in skeleton.

Gold at four successive Winter Olympics is a new record for Great Britain, beating the three Olympics in a row between 1976 and 1984. John Curry (1976), Robin Cousins (1980) and Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean (1984) were the gold medal winners at those three Olympics, all in figure skating.

Christopher Dean was the last British man to win Winter Olympic gold.

What a final day it's been in Beijing.

Here's a run down of what's been happening overnight:

• Great Britain's women's curling team defeated Japan 10-3 to win Team GB's first gold of the Games;
• GB's self-funded four-man bobsleigh team missed out on a medal, with Brad Hall's team finishing sixth;
• Francesco Friedrich's German sled took the four-man bobsleigh gold;
• Austria won gold in the alpine skiing's delayed mixed team parallel event;
• Norway's Johaug Therese won her third gold in the women's 30km cross-country ski;
• Finland and the Russian Olympic Committee are tied 1-1 in the men's ice hockey final - the last gold of Beijing 2022 to be decided.
