Women's gold-medal match: Great Britain 4-2 Japan (after six ends)

Satsuki Fujisawa uses Japan's final stone of the seventh end to knock out one of GB's yellows.

BUT, there remain three yellows in play - and a big chance for four here - if Eve Muirhead can just remove Japan's solitary red.

    Huge moment...

    Alpine skiing mixed team parallel

It's Austria who take the gold in the mixed team parallel!

Alexander Schmid wins the fourth run for Germany to make it 2-2, but it's not quite quick enough to deny the Austrian team the title.

Women's gold-medal match: Great Britain 4-2 Japan (after six ends)

Keeping the pressure on is exactly what Eve Muirhead's team are doing right now.

A couple of mistakes by Japan has left GB with two stones on the button, and Muirhead calls a time-out with the potential to set something significant up with three stones to play.

Great Britain just need to keep the pressure on Japan now.

Eve Muirhead doesn’t need to be too clever.

That is immensely disappointing for Japan because that was a straightforward two.

That was a get out of jail card for Great Britain. They were let off the hook.

Norway have just claimed the bronze medal in the alpine skiing's mixed team parallel event, beating the USA in the 'small final'.

Both nations won two runs apiece, meaning the tie was decided on time.

There was only 0.02 seconds in it! But it's Norway who make the podium.

It's Austria against Germany for the gold medal shortly.

Wendy Lo: Started the day with curling, ending the day with curling! How can something be so relaxing and exciting at the same time?!

Emma Gregory: Don't need caffeine when you have curling. Come on Team Muirhead!!

Sarah Thomas: Absolutely gripped! I don't even need the matchsticks for my eyelids. Who cares that it's 2.30am!

Oh wow! It looked like a straightforward shot for Satsuki Fujisawa, but Great Britain are let off the hook!

It's just the one for Japan. Team Muirhead remain in control.

Nicely done by Satsuki Fujisawa, whose first stone drifts in and sits neatly on the button, with a GB yellow for back-up.

Eve Muirhead's final shot can't clear it out and Japan will have the chance to take two back here.

The skips are up in the sixth end.

Japan have the hammer, so Eve Muirhead will look to make life difficult for Satsuki Fujisawa. She sends Japan's only in-play red fizzing out the back, leaving four yellows sprawled across the house...

    Jackie Lockhart
Four-time Olympic curler on BBC TV

Great Britain just need to continue what they are doing, they are dominating this game.

They are playing their shots well, that’s what they need to do and wait to see what the opponent does.

The difference is Satsuki Fujisawa is not pulling off the shots she needs to at the moment.

As long as we can keep the pressure up I am feeling confident we can take this game.

You can't ask for much more in the first half of an Olympic final than that.

Gold is within reach for Eve Muirhead and her team.

A rousing applause greets the finale of that end. Japan are chasing.
