I was wanting to go for a Dean Harrison [win] but watching the Honda, it looks so lively in places that you wouldn't want it to be lively on this track.

Really high speed moving. I had a chat with Dean about that and it is something they are trying to dial out.

    Superbike qualifying

    Philip McCallen
11-time race winner on the BBC Sport website

Michael [Dunlop] did have a tumble off so he is going to be a little bit sore, but adrenaline will help keep the pain away for tonight.

Then he'll have Friday to recover for Saturday. To be honest tonight, I am going to say Michael Dunlop for the Superbike win tonight.

The top four boys are all so close in terms of time.

Even though in qualifying it is great to be on pole, it is still wide open and it could be anyone.

Honda Racing UK's Havier Beltran speaking on BBC iPlayer: "Dean [Harrison] has done a lot of laps today. A lot of laps on the 600 and lots on the Superbike. A few little tweaks, in and out a few times, but again just fine tuning ahead of this evening.

"Really happy how everything is going and really happy with how the team is working."

  13. 'Good session from Ian Hutchinson'published at 14:48 British Summer Time 8 May

    Superbike qualifying

    Lee Johnston
    Five-time winner on BBC iPlayer

That's a good session from Ian Hutchinson. I think he'll be happy with seventh. It's a new team for him and the team are on the back foot with sorting the bike with electronics and different things.

He is definitely a driven man, that is a fact.

    Lee Johnston
    Five-time winner on BBC iPlayer

It was interesting how Dean Harrison didn't stay in the garage, he went straight back outside.

It'll be interesting to see if those guys just put a new tyre on it to go for a time straight away again. If you're feeling good, you may as well get the time in early and it gives you more time then to get ready for this evening's races.

  18. Seeley gets in on the act....published at 14:36 British Summer Time 8 May

Alastair Seeley is pushing here. He sits really centrally on the bike but he's moving around a lot so you can tell he is putting an input in.
