I think that is the highlight of the night for me, just to see Ian Hutchinson on the podium.

Like he said he didn't have anything last year and he didn't know what he was going to do this year and it's great to see him on the podium.

When the going gets tough, Michael Dunlop seems to step up to the mark.

He had the grit between his teeth and got stuck in.

I really didn't expect Michael Dunlop to add another two races to his tally.

He is up to seven right now and you wouldn't be surprised now after seeing his form that it goes to eight or nine. We'll have to see on Saturday.

I can feel exactly what Michael Dunlop feels. We represent our country, we have so many fans and teams here and we want to win.

To fly the flag at home and win is the best feeling in the world.

  9. 'I always believed'published at 20:19 British Summer Time

    Michael Dunlop wins Superstock race

Third place finisher Ian Hutchinson, speaking on BBC iPlayer: "It's massive. The lads gave me a ring in November about this project and it's come together in the last four weeks. It's been very rushed. I've been believing since my accident in 2017 that I could come back. It's been hard with the frame on my leg, Covid and then I had a stroke. It's been a nightmare really, eight years of being nowhere near the pace but I've kept believing in myself, kept on going by training hard."

On where his resilience comes from: "I'm not really sure to be honest. I hope my daughter is watching because Daddy can still ride. It is yeah [an emotional podium].

  10. 'I had nothing left at the end'published at 20:17 British Summer Time

    Michael Dunlop wins Superstock Race

Honda's Dean Harrison, who finished second, speaking on BBC iPlayer: "I didn't get off to a very good start. I was back in eighth and knew I had some work to do. Peter [Hickman] overshot at Metropole and then Davey [Todd] overshot at University Corner and that was two, so I was sixth and picked my way through a little bit.

"I had nothing left at the end. I wasn't sure how close anyone was behind me so I kept pushing until the end.

"We missed half the session with the Stocks as we had a bit of a technical problem so went out with a bit of unknown and I was struggling to shift, the first three gears I'm struggling with so we have to go back to the drawing board and fix it for Saturday."

  12. 'I think I deserved it'published at 20:13 British Summer Time

    Michael Dunlop wins Superstock race

Race winner Michael Dunlop, speaking on BBC iPlayer: "I'd rode hard for that. I think I deserved it. It was tough going and Davey almost got away but I got him back in. I got past Dean into Station, it was tight but I needed to make inroads before he left. The crash took me a minute to calm myself down and understand it so the same issues wouldn't happen again. I'm really happy. Sorry to my sponsors, she looks a bit rough and ready but she's going.

"I've proved tonight I'm still fast. It's great, I knew it was going to be hard and I knew that race was going to be hot and heavy. The boys have worked hard to get everything ready, I appreciate it. I haven't won in a long time and it was a kick in the face, so to win again is another weight off my shoulders. I'll not not come here fully fit for a long time, but we've overcome it and won two races tonight.

"It is. It's hard when you are a Dunlop at home. The fans and folks are great, and I am surrounded by fantastic people, sponsors, mechanics and personnel."
